أقام الاتحاد البرتغالي لكرة القدم مساء أمس (الثلاثاء) حفل تأبين للنجم البرتغالي الراحل ديوغو جوتا، لاعب ليفربول الإنجليزي.
وكان الدولي البرتغالي قد توفي مطلع يوليو الماضي في حادث سير مأساوي وقع في مقاطعة زامورا، شمال غرب إسبانيا، حيث فقد حياته مع شقيقه أندريه.
شهد الحفل حضور عدد من الشخصيات البارزة، مثل رئيس البرتغال مارسيلو ريبيلو دي سوزا، ورئيس الوزراء لويس مونتينيغرو، ورئيس الاتحاد البرتغالي لكرة القدم بيدرو بروينسا، إلى جانب عائلة جوتا.
وفي لحظة مؤثرة، بدا قائد نادي النصر كريستيانو رونالدو متأثراً للغاية، وكأنّه كان يحبس دموعه خلال الحفل، كما كشف لاعب الهلال روبن نيفيز الذي كانت له علاقة صداقة قوية مع اللاعب الراحل عن وشم على أحد ساقيه يُظهره وهو يعانق جوتا، في تكريم مؤثر لذكراه.
وخلال الحفل، عرض الاتحاد البرتغالي لكرة القدم فيديو يتضمن لقطات من تدريبات جوتا، إضافة إلى أهدافه التي سجلها مع منتخب بلاده، بينما سرد صديقه المقرب روبن نيفيز بعض الذكريات المؤثرة عنه.
وبجانب التكريم السمعي البصري، تم الكشف عن تمثال برونزي يحمل قميص جوتا رقم 21، تم وضعه بجوار النصب التذكاري الذي أُقيم تكريماً للراحل خورخي كوستا، قائد بورتو التاريخي الذي توفي قبل أسابيع.
The Portuguese Football Federation held a memorial ceremony yesterday evening (Tuesday) for the late Portuguese star Diogo Jota, a player for Liverpool FC.
The Portuguese international passed away in early July in a tragic car accident that occurred in the Zamora region, northwest Spain, where he lost his life along with his brother André.
The ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including the President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, and the President of the Portuguese Football Federation Pedro Proença, along with Jota's family.
In an emotional moment, Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to be deeply affected, as if he was holding back tears during the ceremony. Additionally, Al Hilal player Ruben Neves, who had a strong friendship with the late player, revealed a tattoo on one of his legs depicting him embracing Jota, in a touching tribute to his memory.
During the ceremony, the Portuguese Football Federation presented a video featuring clips of Jota's training sessions, as well as the goals he scored with his national team, while his close friend Ruben Neves shared some touching memories about him.
Alongside the audiovisual tribute, a bronze statue wearing Jota's number 21 jersey was unveiled, placed next to the memorial dedicated to the late Jorge Costa, the historic captain of Porto who passed away a few weeks ago.
