نفّذ المتجر الرسمي لنادي مانشستر يونايتد الإنجليزي سياسة تمنع المشجعين من طباعة اسم أسطورته، والقائد الحالي لنادي النصر كريستيانو رونالدو، على قمصان الفريق.
رونالدو ليس النجم السابق الوحيد الممنوع طباعة اسمه، إذ يشمل هذا الإجراء أساطير أخرى في النادي، مثل ديفيد بيكهام وإريك كانتونا.
ووفقاً للنادي الإنجليزي، يمتلك اللاعبون الثلاثة الحقوق التجارية لأسمائهم، ما يمنع مانشستر يونايتد من استخدامها بحرية على المنتجات الرسمية دون اتفاقيات محددة.
وقد انكشفت هذه السياسة عندما حاول عدد من المشجعين طباعة أسماء هؤلاء الأساطير على قمصانهم في متجر النادي الضخم، فوجدوا إشعاراً يقول: «بسبب قيود الترخيص، لا يمكننا طباعة هذه الأسماء».
وبحسب صحيفة «آس» الإسبانية، فقد أثار هذا القرار حالة من الارتباك والانزعاج بين جماهير النادي، إذ يرى كثيرون أن رونالدو وبيكهام وكانتونا جزء لا يتجزأ من تاريخ مانشستر يونايتد، ويستحقون التكريم بطباعة أسمائهم على قمصان الفريق، كما وصف بعض مشجعي «الشياطين الحمر» هذه الخطوة بأنها «لا تحترم الأساطير».

According to the English club, the three players hold the commercial rights to their names, which prevents Manchester United from using them freely on official merchandise without specific agreements.
This policy was revealed when several fans attempted to print the names of these legends on their shirts at the club's massive store, only to find a notice stating: "Due to licensing restrictions, we cannot print these names."
According to the Spanish newspaper "AS," this decision has caused confusion and frustration among the club's supporters, as many believe that Ronaldo, Beckham, and Cantona are an integral part of Manchester United's history and deserve to be honored by having their names printed on the team's shirts. Some "Red Devils" fans described this move as "disrespectful to the legends."
