في واقعة غريبة أثارت جدلاً واسعاً، كشف الاتحاد الهندي لكرة القدم عن تعرضه لمحاولة احتيال إلكترونية نسبت رغبة الإسبانيين تشافي هيرنانديز، وبيب غوارديولا، في تدريب منتخب الهند الوطني.
وأوضحت اللجنة الفنية في بيان رسمي أنها تلقت أكثر من 170 طلباً لشغل منصب المدير الفني، تمت تصفية 10 منها، ثم تقليصها إلى 3 أسماء فقط. لكن المفاجأة الكبرى كانت في تلقي بريد إلكتروني يتضمن طلبين منسوبين إلى تشافي وغوارديولا، قبل أن يتضح لاحقاً أن الرسائل مزيفة ولا أساس لها من الصحة.
وأكد الاتحاد الهندي أنه يتعامل بجدية مع كل الطلبات، لكنه ملتزم برؤية تطوير شاملة للمنتخب الوطني، وأن أي قرارات تُتخذ تُراعى المصلحة الفنية وتتماشى مع التطلعات الدولية للكرة الهندية.
