اقترب الأهلي المصري خطوة كبيرة نحو التتويج بلقب الدوري المصري الممتاز لكرة القدم للمرة الـ45 في تاريخه، بعد فوز مثير بنتيجة 2-1 على ضيفه البنك الأهلي، في المباراة التي أقيمت على استاد القاهرة الدولي ضمن منافسات الجولة السابعة (قبل الأخيرة) من مجموعة البطولة لموسم 2024-2025.

تمكن البنك الأهلي من إدراك التعادل في الدقيقة 55 عن طريق محمد هلال، الذي استغل خطأ دفاعياً، ومع تصاعد الضغط، أنقذ وسام أبو علي الأهلي في الوقت بدل الضائع بهدف حاسم.
بهذا الفوز، رفع الأهلي رصيده إلى 55 نقطة في صدارة مجموعة البطولة، بفارق نقطتين عن أقرب منافسيه (بيراميدز) الذي يمتلك 53 نقطة مع تبقي جولة واحدة فقط، وبحسب قواعد الدوري، يكفي الأهلي التعادل في مباراته الأخيرة أمام المصري البورسعيدي يوم 22 مايو ليتوج رسمياً باللقب، بغض النظر عن نتائج بيراميدز. في المقابل، يحتل البنك الأهلي المركز الرابع برصيد 37 نقطة، بعد أداء قوي لكنه لم يكفِ لإيقاف زحف «الأحمر».

The match between Egyptian Al Ahly and Al Ahly Bank witnessed the brilliance of Imam Ashour and Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali, with each scoring a goal, further solidifying Al Ahly's lead with 55 points, leaving them just one point away from officially securing the title.
The match kicked off with great enthusiasm from both teams, with Al Ahly striving to secure the three points to strengthen its position at the top, while Al Ahly Bank attempted to thwart the "Red" team's plans.
