دافع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الإثنين) عن قرارات البيت الأبيض ضد الصحافة في أمريكا، مؤكداً أنه يستهدف الأخبار الكاذبة. وكتب ترمب على منصته «تروث سوشيال»: البيت الأبيض لا يشن هجوماً على الصحافة الحرة، وهو أمر أعتز به، وإنما يشن هجوماً على الأخبار الكاذبة، التي نمت كالسرطان في الولايات المتحدة. ووصف ترمب الصحافة التي يهاجمها بأنها «فاسدة، ومتعمدة، ومتغلغلة، ومنسقة بالكامل، وخارجة تماماً عن السيطرة»، موضحاً أنها تهديد للأمن القومي الأمريكي ويجب إيقافها الآن!
وأعلنت مؤسسات CNN وMS NOW و«بوليتيكو» رفع دعوى أمام محكمة جزئية في واشنطن، احتجاجاً على منع صحافييها من دخول البيت الأبيض وسحب تصاريحهم الصحفية. وقالت المؤسسات الثلاث إنها أخطرت الحكومة الأمريكية بالدعوى، مؤكدة أن تحركها يستند إلى حقوقها بموجب التعديل الأول للدستور، وأن الحكومة لا ينبغي أن تحدد ما تنشره أو تبثه وسائل الإعلام. واعتبرت أن سحب التصاريح، دون إخطار أو إجراءات قانونية، جاء على خلفية اعتراض الإدارة على تغطيتها الإخبارية.
ويأتي التحرك القضائي بعد أن أعلن ترمب، (الجمعة)، منع المؤسسات الثلاث من دخول البيت الأبيض، متهماً إياها بنشر «أخبار كاذبة». وهدد ترمب حينها باتخاذ إجراءات مماثلة ضد مؤسسات إعلامية أخرى، كما منع مراسلو المؤسسات الأخرى من دخول المجمع في اليوم التالي، وعُطلت تصاريحهم الصحفية وصودرت بعضها. وتضررت تغطية المؤسسات الثلاث داخل البيت الأبيض بصورة مباشرة، إذ لم يعد بإمكان صحافييها الوصول إلى أماكن عملهم، كما مُنعت CNN وMS NOW من استخدام معدات تلفزيونية ومواقع مخصصة للتصوير داخل المجمع. وسحب البيت الأبيض كذلك من CNN مسؤولياتها ضمن نظام التناوب المشترك لتغطية تحركات الرئيس.
ومن المنتظر أن تنظر المحكمة في الدعوى بصورة عاجلة، مع احتمال عقد جلسات ومرافعات خلال الأسبوع الجاري.

Trump wrote on his platform "Truth Social": The White House is not attacking the free press, which I cherish, but is attacking fake news, which has grown like cancer in the United States. Trump described the press he is attacking as "corrupt, deliberate, infiltrated, fully coordinated, and completely out of control," explaining that it poses a threat to U.S. national security and must be stopped now!
CNN, MS NOW, and Politico announced that they have filed a lawsuit in a district court in Washington, protesting the ban on their journalists from entering the White House and the revocation of their press credentials. The three organizations stated that they have notified the U.S. government of the lawsuit, emphasizing that their action is based on their rights under the First Amendment of the Constitution, and that the government should not dictate what media outlets publish or broadcast. They considered that the revocation of credentials, without notice or legal procedures, came in response to the administration's objections to their news coverage.
The legal action comes after Trump announced on Friday that the three organizations were banned from entering the White House, accusing them of spreading "fake news." Trump threatened at that time to take similar actions against other media organizations, and also barred reporters from other outlets from entering the complex the following day, with their press credentials being suspended or confiscated. The coverage of the three organizations inside the White House was directly affected, as their journalists could no longer access their workplaces, and CNN and MS NOW were prohibited from using television equipment and designated filming locations within the complex. The White House also stripped CNN of its responsibilities within the shared rotation system for covering the president's movements.
It is expected that the court will consider the lawsuit urgently, with the possibility of holding sessions and hearings during this week.
