Three Palestinians were injured, including a child and an elderly man, and nine others were arrested today during incursions and assaults by the Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank.
The Palestinian news agency reported that a 68-year-old man sustained bruises to his back and chest, and a 14-year-old child suffered a fracture in his right hand, during the incursion of the occupation forces into the village of Marqa south of Jenin.
In the town of Faqqua east of Jenin, a Palestinian was shot in the foot by the occupation forces while residents were responding to settlers who began grazing their livestock on the town's lands.
The occupation forces arrested seven Palestinians, including two released prisoners, during the incursion into the village of Deir Abu Da'if and the towns of Faqqua and Silat al-Harithiya, as well as the Al-Munir neighborhood in Jenin Governorate.
They also arrested two brothers in the town of Tammoun in Tubas Governorate, following a raid on their family home, and raided and searched several homes, tampering with their contents.
In occupied Jerusalem, the occupation municipality forced a Palestinian to demolish five facilities and commercial shops he owns in the industrial area of Wadi al-Joz, after threatening him with exorbitant fees for demolition costs if the municipality carried out the operation.
The Jerusalem Governorate clarified that the owner of the facilities had paid around 300,000 shekels in fines over the past years before being forced into self-demolition, noting that the facilities are a source of livelihood for dozens of workers and their families, and that their demolition has directly harmed at least 200 Palestinians, including 75 children and 56 women.
These assaults come amid ongoing incursions, home demolitions, and settlement expansion in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, where the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 2,030 assaults carried out by the occupation forces and settlers during last August, along with 71 demolition operations affecting 155 facilities.
The commission warned that these practices aim to undermine the Palestinian presence by attacking sources of livelihood, the right to housing, and depriving Palestinians of access to their lands, pushing them towards displacement.
