U.S. President Donald Trump described Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman today (Saturday) as a "good friend" of his.
Trump predicted during his meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin in Dublin that the Iran war would end very soon, saying: "Things will go well" in the Iran war.
He pointed out that Iran has missiles capable of targeting European cities, noting that his forces control the Strait of Hormuz.
He indicated that the Iranians are likely behind the attack on the East-West pipeline in Saudi Arabia.
Regarding Gaza, Trump said: "We have done a great job in Gaza and things are improving," adding: "We have put out the fire in Gaza and are facilitating the peace process there."
Trump pledged to reduce oil prices, confirming that they will drop significantly when the war ends.
Meanwhile, a senior official at the U.S. Department of Defense urged Congress to approve President Donald Trump's request for $1.5 trillion to compensate for the depletion of military stockpiles of munitions, interceptors, and weapons used in deep strikes during the Iran war.
Michael Duffy, the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, stated in comments to Bloomberg that the department has awarded the necessary contracts and made reforms in procurement processes, but it needs funding to meet the needs of forces in the field.
Duffy emphasized that obtaining the full amount is a priority to achieve Trump's goals, calling for collaboration with Congress over the next two months to ensure funding.
He explained that granting the Pentagon the authority to enter into production contracts extending for 7 years has encouraged defense companies to increase their investments and ramp up munitions production.
Priorities include "Patriot," "Tomahawk," "THAAD," and "Standard" missiles, while the U.S. administration seeks to accelerate production, replenish stockpiles, and build next-generation weapon capabilities.
