Dozens of Houthi militants were killed, many were injured, and two others were captured (on Thursday) in the ongoing battles in the Al-Barh and Al-Kadhah areas of the Maqbana district west of Taiz.
Military sources confirmed to "Okaz" that fierce battles are taking place in several combat sectors on the Maqbana fronts west of Taiz, particularly in the Al-Tawir, Al-Kadhah, and Ghabari areas south of the district center, as well as Al-Majasha and Al-Madroubah to the north of the district.
The sources stated that the armed forces succeeded in capturing two members of the Houthi militia on the Maqbana front and found five bodies of Houthi casualties in the positions controlled by the National Resistance in the Al-Kadhah area west of Taiz, indicating that the artillery of the National Resistance, part of the Yemeni armed forces, destroyed three Houthi vehicles and managed to force the militia to flee on the Al-Barh front.
Sources reported that there is a wave of displacement affecting the villages of the Maqbana district and the Al-Kadhah area, in addition to displaced persons from camps due to the ongoing artillery shelling by the Houthi militia, explaining that the Yemeni government forces are inflicting heavy losses on the Houthi militia along the contact lines in Taiz across the coastal front.
Villages and camps in the contact areas are witnessing significant displacement of civilians and a state of terror due to the Houthis using some villages as human shields for their militias, particularly the Al-Majasha village and the city of Al-Barh.
For its part, a source in the local authority in Taiz governorate clarified that the Houthi militia, as usual in every loss it incurs, resorts to targeting infrastructure, noting that the militia shelled the Al-Wazi'ah bridge with a ballistic missile.
In the Hays district south of Al-Hudaydah governorate, a seventy-year-old man was injured by a mortar shell fired by the Houthi militia at the Al-Mahrak village in the Nakhlah isolation.
In Marib governorate east of Yemen, government forces shot down a Houthi drone.
Clashes are still ongoing in several sectors, amid reinforcements and the deployment of Yemeni armed forces in combat positions.
The Houthi militia launched more than 14 ballistic missiles at dawn, some of which fell in areas under their control in Maqbana, while others landed in the sea, and part of them fell in residential neighborhoods in the Al-Mokha and Al-Khawkhah districts west of Yemen.
