عقد وفد أمني وعسكري سعودي اليوم (الخميس) اجتماعاً مع مكتب القائد العام للقوات المسلحة العراقية في بغداد؛ لمناقشة ضبط الحدود وتكثيف تبادل المعلومات، وفقاً لما أعلنته خلية الإعلام الأمني العراقي.
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء العراقية «واع» عن بيان للخلية أن «مكتب القائد العام للقوات المسلحة العراقية استقبل، اليوم، وفداً أمنياً وعسكرياً رفيع المستوى من المملكة العربية السعودية»، مبينة أن «الجانبين عقدا اجتماعاً موسعاً بحضور الفريق أول الركن عبد الأمير الشمري مدير مكتب القائد العام، ورئيس جهاز المخابرات الوطني العراقي، إلى جانب وكلاء ومديري الأجهزة الأمنية والاستخبارية».
وأضافت أن «اللقاء جاء استكمالاً للمحادثات والحوارات السابقة التي عُقدت في الرياض، ومواصلةً للتنسيق الأمني المستمر بين العراق والسعودية»، موضحة أن «المحادثات ركزت على تعزيز إجراءات ضبط الحدود المشتركة وتكثيف تبادل المعلومات الاستخبارية، بما يسهم في رفع مستوى التعاون الثنائي».
وأكد المجتمعون «الحرص المتبادل على ترسيخ آليات العمل الأمني وتطويرها بما ينعكس إيجاباً على أمن واستقرار البلدين الشقيقين».
وكان وفد عراقي رفيع المستوى قد وصل إلى الرياض في 13 من الشهر الجاري لمناقشة عدد من الملفات الأمنية والقضايا المشتركة.
A Saudi security and military delegation held a meeting today (Thursday) with the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces in Baghdad to discuss border control and intensifying information exchange, according to a statement from the Iraqi Security Media Cell.
The Iraqi News Agency "INA" reported in a statement from the cell that "the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces received today a high-level security and military delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," indicating that "the two sides held an extensive meeting attended by Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, Director of the Commander-in-Chief's office, and the head of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, along with deputies and directors of security and intelligence agencies."
It added that "the meeting was a continuation of previous discussions and dialogues held in Riyadh, and a continuation of ongoing security coordination between Iraq and Saudi Arabia," clarifying that "the discussions focused on enhancing measures for controlling the shared borders and intensifying intelligence information exchange, which contributes to raising the level of bilateral cooperation."
The attendees confirmed "the mutual commitment to solidifying and developing security work mechanisms in a way that positively reflects on the security and stability of the two brotherly countries."
A high-level Iraqi delegation had arrived in Riyadh on the 13th of this month to discuss several security files and common issues.
