قللت كيم يو جونغ شقيقة زعيم كوريا الشمالية اليوم (الأربعاء) من أهمية قرارات واشنطن بتقليص المناورات العسكرية المشتركة مع سول.
نقلت وكالة الأنباء المركزية الكورية عن جونغ قولها: بيونغ يانغ لا تبدي أي اهتمام على الإطلاق بقرار الولايات المتحدة تقليص حجم المناورات العسكرية المشتركة مع كوريا الجنوبية، مضيفة: طبيعة المناورات العسكرية بين الولايات المتحدة وكوريا الجنوبية لم تتغير رغم خفض حجمها.
وأشارت إلى أن السياسة العدائية التي تنتهجها الولايات المتحدة تجاه بلدها لم تتغير، مبينة أنه لا علم لدى بيونغ يانغ بأي اتصالات جرت أخيراً بين الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب وزعيم كوريا الشمالية كيم جونغ أون، ولكنها قالت «إن العلاقة بين ترمب وكيم ممتازة بالفعل».
جاء ذلك في الوقت الذي قالت هيئة الأركان المشتركة في كوريا الجنوبية إن سول وواشنطن ستخفضان فترة التدريبات العسكرية المشتركة «أولتشي فريدوم شيلد» (درع الحرية-أولتشي)، بعدما أعلن ترمب القرار بشكل منفرد، ودون إبلاغ سول أولاً.
كان ترمب كتب على منصته «تروث سوشيال» أنه ليس سعيداً بموافقة الولايات المتحدة منذ فترة طويلة على المشاركة في مناورات عسكرية مشتركة مع كوريا الجنوبية، مؤكداً على وجود علاقة جيدة جداً مع كيم جونغ أون.
Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader, downplayed the significance of Washington's decisions to reduce joint military exercises with Seoul today (Wednesday).
The Korean Central News Agency quoted Jong as saying: "Pyongyang shows no interest at all in the U.S. decision to reduce the scale of joint military exercises with South Korea," adding: "The nature of the military exercises between the United States and South Korea has not changed despite the reduction in scale."
She pointed out that the hostile policy pursued by the United States towards her country has not changed, indicating that Pyongyang is not aware of any recent communications between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, but she said, "The relationship between Trump and Kim is indeed excellent."
This comes at a time when the Joint Chiefs of Staff in South Korea stated that Seoul and Washington will reduce the duration of the joint military exercises "Ulchi Freedom Shield," after Trump announced the decision unilaterally, without informing Seoul first.
Trump wrote on his platform "Truth Social" that he is not happy with the long-standing U.S. agreement to participate in joint military exercises with South Korea, emphasizing the very good relationship with Kim Jong Un.
