فيما أعلن مصدر عسكري يمني أن دفاعات القوات الحكومية تصدت لمسيّرات حوثية في المخا، اليوم (الأحد)، كشف مدير عام ميناء المخا في اليمن عبدالملك الشرعبي توقف النشاط التجاري والملاحي في الميناء إثر تعرضه لقصف مكثف من مليشيا الحوثي بأكثر من 25 صاروخاً خلال الأيام الماضية، ما أسفر عن مقتل 7 أشخاص.
وقدر الشرعبيإجمالي الأضرار التي ألحقتها المليشيا بالميناء بنحو 79 مليون دولار، وهي قيمة رصيف متكامل.
وأفاد خلال مؤتمر صحفي عقد في المدينة الساحلية الواقعة غربي محافظة تعز، مساء أمس (السبت)، أن الضحايا هم أربعة من أفراد أمن المنشآت وثلاثة من موظفي الميناء. وأضاف أن الضربات الصاروخية، من بينها خمسة صواريخ باليستية استهدفت الرصيف القديم، تسببت في تدمير هناجر التخزين، وإلحاق أضرار بالغة بحفار توسعة الميناء واللنش البحري التابع له، فضلاً عن تضرر ست سفن خشبية (صنابيق تجارية).
وحذر الشرعبي من تداعيات إنسانية واقتصادية حادة نتيجة تعطيل هذا المرفق الحيوي، مشيراً إلى فقدان نحو 1300 عامل لمصادر دخلهم جراء التوقف التام للحركة الملاحية. وأشار إلى أن ميناء المخا كان يشهد تعافياً ونشاطاً تجارياً متنامياً قبل الهجمات، مؤكداً أن استمرار التصعيد يهدد الملاحة البحرية ويضاعف حجم الخسائر الاقتصادية في المنطقة.
وقال إن الهجمات التي تعرض لها الميناء الواقع على ساحل البحر الأحمر تمثل «تدميراً ممنهجاً» يستهدف إغلاقه وقطع شريان الحياة عن ملايين اليمنيين، مؤكداً أنه لا يمكن ترك الميناء مغلقاً، وأنه سيعاود العمل مهما بلغت التهديدات والضربات التي يتعرض لها.
A Yemeni military source announced that the government forces' defenses repelled Houthi drones in Al-Mokha today (Sunday), while the General Director of Al-Mokha Port in Yemen, Abdul Malik Al-Sharabi, revealed that commercial and maritime activities at the port have come to a halt due to intense shelling from the Houthi militia with more than 25 missiles over the past few days, resulting in the deaths of 7 people.
Al-Sharabi estimated the total damages inflicted by the militia on the port at approximately 79 million dollars, which is the value of a complete dock.
He reported during a press conference held in the coastal city located west of Taiz Governorate last night (Saturday) that the victims include four members of the facility's security and three port employees. He added that the missile strikes, including five ballistic missiles targeting the old dock, caused the destruction of storage warehouses and severely damaged the port expansion dredger and its associated marine launch, in addition to affecting six wooden ships (commercial boxes).
Al-Sharabi warned of severe humanitarian and economic repercussions due to the disruption of this vital facility, pointing out that about 1300 workers have lost their sources of income due to the complete halt of maritime movement. He noted that Al-Mokha Port was witnessing a recovery and growing commercial activity before the attacks, emphasizing that the continuation of the escalation threatens maritime navigation and increases the scale of economic losses in the region.
He stated that the attacks on the port located on the Red Sea coast represent a "systematic destruction" aimed at closing it and cutting off the lifeline for millions of Yemenis, affirming that the port cannot be left closed and that it will resume operations regardless of the threats and strikes it faces.
