أعلنت خفر السواحل اليمنية اليوم (الثلاثاء)، ارتفاع ضحايا الهجوم الحوثي بالصواريخ الباليستية على سفينة في باب المندب إلى ستة قتلى من طاقم السفينة بينهم عسكريون يمنيون، وإصابة 10 آخرين، مستعرضة طبيعة الهجوم والجهود التي بذلتها لإنقاذ الطاقم.
وقالت قوات خفر السواحل في بيان على حسابها في «فيسبوك»: تمكنت قوات خفر السواحل اليمنية، بالتعاون مع فرق الإنقاذ التابعة لقوات المقاومة الوطنية، من إجلاء القتلى والمصابين وإنقاذ عدد من أفراد طاقم السفينة التجارية «تهامة» والبالغ عددهم 11 بحاراً من الجنسيتين الباكستانية والإندونيسية، وذلك عقب تعرضها اليوم في الساعة 9:30 صباحاً لهجوم متكرر بصواريخ تابعة لمليشيا الحوثي أثناء إبحارها في مضيق باب المندب.
وأضاف البيان: فور وقوع الهجوم على السفينة المدنية، تحركت فرق خفر السواحل، إلى جانب فرق الإنقاذ التابعة لقوات المقاومة الوطنية، إلى موقع الحادث للمساعدة في إنقاذ أفراد الطاقم وإجلاء الضحايا، موضحاً أن الهجوم أدى إلى اندلاع حريق على متن السفينة وإلحاق أضرار جسيمة بها، إلى جانب سقوط عدد من القتلى والجرحى من أفراد طاقمها بينهم ثلاثة من الجنسية الباكستانية، وواحد من الجنسية الإندونيسية.
وأشارت إلى أنه وأثناء مباشرة فرق خفر السواحل وقوات المقاومة الوطنية عمليات الإنقاذ والإجلاء، استهدفت مليشيا الحوثي السفينة مجدداً بصاروخ آخر، في اعتداء طال موقع عمليات الإنقاذ وأسفر عن سقوط قتلى وجرحى في صفوف القوات المشاركة في عملية الاستجابة.
وكشفت قوات خفر السواحل أن الحوثي لم يكتفِ باستهداف السفينة بالصواريخ بل حاول استهدافها بزورق مفخخ، قائلة: بعد نحو ثلاث ساعات من الهجوم، رُصد زورق مفخخ مسيّر تابع للمليشيا الحوثية يحاول الاقتراب من موقع السفينة من جهة البحر، وتم اعتراضه وتدميره من قبل قوات المقاومة الوطنية وخفر السواحل قبل وصوله إلى هدفه.
وذكر البيان أن الهجوم تسبب في مقتل 6 بينهم 4 من أفراد طاقم السفينة، (ثلاثة باكستانيين وواحد إندونيسي)، إضافة إلى اثنين من منتسبي اللواء الثاني بحري التابع لقوات المقاومة الوطنية، كما أصيب عشرة أشخاص، بينهم سبعة من أفراد طاقم السفينة، واثنان من منتسبي خفر السواحل، وأحد منتسبي اللواء الثاني بحري.
ودانت مصلحة خفر السواحل الاعتداء الحوثي، مؤكدة أنه يمثل تصعيداً خطيراً وتهديداً مباشراً لأمن وسلامة الملاحة البحرية وحياة البحارة وفرق الإنقاذ في مضيق باب المندب.
وذكرت القوات أن الهجوم الحوثي يكشف مجدداً عن المخاطر التي تشكلها هجمات مليشيا الحوثي على السفن التجارية والممرات البحرية الدولية في البحر الأحمر ومضيق باب المندب، مؤكدة استمرارها في أداء واجبها في حماية الملاحة البحرية، والاستجابة لنداءات الاستغاثة، وإنقاذ أرواح البحارة، والتعامل مع التهديدات التي تستهدف أمن وسلامة الممرات البحرية، بالتنسيق مع الجهات المختصة والقوى المعنية بأمن الملاحة في المنطقة.
The Yemeni Coast Guard announced today (Tuesday) that the death toll from the Houthi missile attack on a ship in the Bab al-Mandab has risen to six fatalities among the crew, including Yemeni military personnel, and 10 others injured, detailing the nature of the attack and the efforts made to rescue the crew.
The Coast Guard forces stated in a statement on their Facebook account: The Yemeni Coast Guard, in cooperation with the rescue teams of the National Resistance Forces, managed to evacuate the dead and injured and rescue several members of the crew of the commercial ship "Tihama," which has 11 sailors of Pakistani and Indonesian nationalities, after it was subjected today at 9:30 AM to repeated missile attacks by Houthi militias while sailing in the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The statement added: Immediately after the attack on the civilian ship, Coast Guard teams, along with rescue teams from the National Resistance Forces, moved to the incident site to assist in rescuing the crew members and evacuating the victims, explaining that the attack led to a fire on board the ship and caused severe damage, in addition to the deaths and injuries among its crew, including three of Pakistani nationality and one of Indonesian nationality.
It was noted that while the Coast Guard and National Resistance Forces were conducting rescue and evacuation operations, the Houthi militia targeted the ship again with another missile, in an assault that affected the rescue operation site and resulted in casualties among the forces participating in the response operation.
The Coast Guard revealed that the Houthis did not stop at targeting the ship with missiles but also attempted to target it with a booby-trapped boat, stating: After about three hours from the attack, a booby-trapped drone boat belonging to the Houthi militia was spotted attempting to approach the ship from the sea, and it was intercepted and destroyed by the National Resistance Forces and the Coast Guard before reaching its target.
The statement mentioned that the attack resulted in the deaths of 6 individuals, including 4 crew members (three Pakistanis and one Indonesian), in addition to two members of the second naval brigade of the National Resistance Forces. Ten people were injured, including seven crew members, two Coast Guard personnel, and one member of the second naval brigade.
The Coast Guard condemned the Houthi attack, affirming that it represents a serious escalation and a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and the lives of sailors and rescue teams in the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The forces stated that the Houthi attack once again reveals the dangers posed by Houthi militia attacks on commercial ships and international maritime routes in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, emphasizing their continued commitment to fulfilling their duty to protect maritime navigation, respond to distress calls, save sailors' lives, and deal with threats targeting the security and safety of maritime routes, in coordination with the relevant authorities and forces concerned with maritime security in the region.
