أدانت المملكة المتحدة بشدة تصاعد أعمال العنف في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة، بما في ذلك الاعتداءات التي نفذها مستوطنون إسرائيليون على قرى وتجمعات فلسطينية، وما رافقها من أعمال عنف أسفرت عن سقوط قتلى، إلى جانب إحراق مسجدين في قريتي قصرة وكور.
وأكد وزير شؤون الشرق الأوسط البريطاني ستيفن داوتي، في بيان، ضرورة حماية المدنيين، واحترام القانون الدولي، ومحاسبة مرتكبي أعمال العنف، داعياً الحكومة الإسرائيلية إلى حماية الفلسطينيين في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة، واتخاذ إجراءات فاعلة لمنع عنف المستوطنين وملاحقة المسؤولين عنه.
كما أدانت التهديد بتوسيع المستوطنات والبؤر الاستيطانية غير القانونية رداً على أعمال العنف، مؤكدةً أن المستوطنات غير قانونية بموجب القانون الدولي، وتقوض إمكانية التوصل إلى حل الدولتين، وتسهم في تأجيج انعدام الأمن للفلسطينيين والإسرائيليين، مجددةً التزامها بالتوصل إلى حل الدولتين عبر المفاوضات، بما يضمن أمن إسرائيل إلى جانب قيام دولة فلسطينية ذات سيادة، ويحقق سلاماً وأمناً دائمين.
The United Kingdom has strongly condemned the escalation of violence in the occupied Palestinian territories, including attacks carried out by Israeli settlers on Palestinian villages and communities, which were accompanied by acts of violence that resulted in casualties, as well as the burning of two mosques in the villages of Qusra and Kour.
British Minister for the Middle East, Stephen Doughty, emphasized in a statement the necessity of protecting civilians, respecting international law, and holding perpetrators of violence accountable, calling on the Israeli government to protect Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories and to take effective measures to prevent settler violence and pursue those responsible for it.
He also condemned the threat to expand settlements and illegal outposts in response to acts of violence, reaffirming that settlements are illegal under international law, undermine the possibility of a two-state solution, and contribute to escalating insecurity for both Palestinians and Israelis, reiterating the UK's commitment to achieving a two-state solution through negotiations that ensure Israel's security alongside the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state, thereby achieving lasting peace and security.
