قُتل أربعة أشخاص من أسرة واحدة، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، نتيجة انفجار لغم أرضي من مخلفات مليشيا الحوثي، في مديرية الزيدية بمحافظة الحديدة غرب اليمن.
وأفاد إعلام ألوية الزرانيق في بيان، بأن المعلومات الأولية تشير إلى أن شخصاً يعاني من اضطرابات نفسية، اعتاد جمع العلب البلاستيكية والخردة المعدنية وبيعها لتوفير مصدر دخل، عثر على جسم يُشتبه بأنه لغم أرضي، فحمله إلى منزله معتقداً أنه يحتوي على معادن يمكن بيعها، قبل أن ينفجر أثناء محاولته تفكيكه، ما أسفر عن مقتل أفراد الأسرة الأربعة. وأضاف البيان أنه جرى نقل الجثامين إلى هيئة مستشفى الثورة العام بمدينة الحديدة، مشيراً إلى أن المعلومات الأولية بشأن الحادثة لا تزال قيد المتابعة. وتعد محافظة الحديدة من أكثر المحافظات اليمنية المزروعة بالألغام الحوثية، التي تسببت في مقتل وإصابة المئات خلال السنوات الماضية. وتواصل الألغام ومخلفات الحرب في اليمن حصد أرواح المدنيين، إذ تحولت مساحات واسعة إلى حقول خطرة تعيق حركة السكان وعودة النازحين وتعرقل النشاط الزراعي والإنساني. وتؤكد تقارير حقوقية أن مليشيا الحوثي زرعت كميات كبيرة من الألغام والعبوات الناسفة خلال سنوات الحرب، خصوصاً في مناطق الجبهات والممرات الإستراتيجية، ما تسبب في سقوط قتلى وجرحى بينهم أطفال ونساء. وتبرز محافظات مثل الحديدة وتعز ومأرب والجوف والبيضاء ضمن المناطق التي شهدت انتشاراً واسعاً لهذه المتفجرات. وأكد خبراء أن الحوثيين استخدموا الألغام وسيلةً لإبطاء تقدم القوات المناوئة وحماية مواقعهم العسكرية، إلا أن استمرار وجودها بعد انتهاء المعارك جعلها تهديداً طويل الأمد للسكان المحليين. وتواصل فرق نزع الألغام جهودها لتطهير المناطق الملوثة، لكن حجم الانتشار الكبير يجعل المهمة تحتاج إلى سنوات وإمكانات ضخمة. وبينما تتواصل الجهود السياسية لإنهاء الحرب، يبقى ملف الألغام أحد أكبر التحديات أمام أمن اليمنيين وإعادة إعمار البلاد.
Four people from the same family were killed today (Tuesday) as a result of a landmine explosion left by the Houthi militia in the Al-Zaydiah district of Al-Hudaydah governorate in western Yemen.
The media office of the Al-Zaraniq Brigades reported in a statement that initial information indicates that a person suffering from psychological disturbances, who was accustomed to collecting plastic bottles and scrap metal to sell for income, found an object suspected to be a landmine. He took it home, believing it contained sellable metals, before it exploded while he was trying to dismantle it, resulting in the deaths of the four family members. The statement added that the bodies were transferred to the Al-Thawra General Hospital in Al-Hudaydah city, noting that initial information about the incident is still under investigation. Al-Hudaydah governorate is one of the most heavily mined areas in Yemen, which has caused the deaths and injuries of hundreds over the past years. Landmines and remnants of war in Yemen continue to claim civilian lives, as vast areas have turned into dangerous fields that hinder the movement of residents, the return of displaced people, and disrupt agricultural and humanitarian activities. Human rights reports confirm that the Houthi militia has planted large quantities of landmines and explosive devices during the years of war, especially in frontline areas and strategic corridors, resulting in casualties including children and women. Provinces such as Al-Hudaydah, Taiz, Marib, Al-Jawf, and Al-Bayda have seen widespread distribution of these explosives. Experts have confirmed that the Houthis used landmines as a means to slow the advance of opposing forces and protect their military positions; however, their continued presence after the battles have made them a long-term threat to local populations. Mine clearance teams continue their efforts to decontaminate affected areas, but the scale of the spread makes the task require years and substantial resources. While political efforts to end the war continue, the issue of landmines remains one of the biggest challenges facing the security of Yemenis and the reconstruction of the country.
