شن الجيش الأمريكي ضربات جوية جديدة ردّاً على الهجمات الإيرانية ضد قواته في الأردن التي أسفرت عن مقتل جنديين أمريكيين، لأول مرة منذ تجدد الأعمال العدائية مع طهران.
وأفاد بيان للقيادة المركزية الأمريكية «سنتكوم»، اليوم (الأحد)، بأن الغارات تهدف إلى «تقويض قدرة إيران على تهديد الملاحة التجارية في مضيق هرمز، ومعاقبة قوات الحرس الثوري بشكل فوري على الهجمات التي شنها ضد أفراد الخدمة الأمريكيين في الأردن الليلة الماضية».
وأعلن انتهاء ثامن موجة على التوالي من الضربات على إيران، مستهدفاً منشآت المراقبة الساحلية والدفاع الجوي العسكرية الإيرانية.
وقالت «سنتكوم»: «استكملنا موجة أخرى من الهجمات على إيران في 18 يوليو في الساعة 11:30 مساءً بتوقيت شرق أمريكا».
وفي بيانها على منصة إكس، أضافت سنتكوم: خلال الليلة الثامنة على التوالي من الضربات الأمريكية، نجحت قوات سنتكوم في استهداف نقاط المراقبة الساحلية ومنشآت الدفاع الجوي التابعة للجيش الإيراني، إضافة إلى القدرات البحرية ومواقع تخزين الصواريخ والطائرات المسيرة، في إطار الجهود المستمرة لتقويض القدرات العسكرية الإيرانية.
وكانت سنتكوم أعلنت بدء جولة جديدة (الجولة الثامنة) من الضربات الجوية ضد إيران، مؤكدة أن العمليات انطلقت في الساعة السادسة صباحاً بتوقيت الساحل الشرقي للولايات المتحدة.
وقالت في بيان، إن الضربات تستهدف تقويض قدرات إيران على تهديد الملاحة التجارية في مضيق هرمز، إلى جانب توجيه رد فوري إلى الحرس الثوري الإيراني عقب الهجوم الذي استهدف القوات الأمريكية في الأردن الليلة الماضية.
وكانت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية، أكدت أمس (السبت)، مقتل عنصرين من القوات الأمريكية وفقدان آخر جراء ضربات إيرانية على الأردن، في خضم تبادل الهجمات بين واشنطن وطهران. وأضافت: «لا يزال أحد أفراد الخدمة في عداد المفقودين».
وشنّت إيران، أمس، المزيد من الهجمات على دول خليجية والأردن، فيما توعّد المرشد مجتبى خامنئي في رسالة مكتوبة بتلقين الولايات المتحدة «دروساً لا تنسى»، مؤكداً أن توقيع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب «بلا قيمة ولاغٍ»، وفق قوله.
The U.S. military launched new airstrikes in response to Iranian attacks against its forces in Jordan, which resulted in the deaths of two American soldiers, marking the first time since hostilities with Tehran resumed.
In a statement from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) today (Sunday), it was reported that the strikes aim to "undermine Iran's ability to threaten commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and to immediately punish the Revolutionary Guard for the attacks it carried out against American service members in Jordan last night."
It announced the conclusion of the eighth consecutive wave of strikes on Iran, targeting Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities.
CENTCOM stated: "We completed another wave of attacks on Iran on July 18 at 11:30 PM Eastern Time."
In its statement on the X platform, CENTCOM added: During the eighth consecutive night of American strikes, CENTCOM forces successfully targeted coastal surveillance points and air defense facilities belonging to the Iranian army, in addition to naval capabilities and missile and drone storage sites, as part of ongoing efforts to undermine Iranian military capabilities.
CENTCOM had announced the start of a new round (the eighth round) of airstrikes against Iran, confirming that operations began at 6 AM Eastern Time.
It stated that the strikes aim to undermine Iran's capabilities to threaten commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as to deliver an immediate response to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard following the attack that targeted American forces in Jordan last night.
The U.S. Central Command confirmed yesterday (Saturday) the deaths of two American service members and the disappearance of another due to Iranian strikes on Jordan, amidst an exchange of attacks between Washington and Tehran. It added: "One service member is still missing."
Iran launched more attacks yesterday on Gulf countries and Jordan, while Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei threatened in a written message to teach the United States "unforgettable lessons," asserting that President Donald Trump's signature is "worthless and null," according to his statement.
