أعرب الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، جاسم محمد البديوي، عن إدانته واستنكاره بأشد العبارات استهداف إيران الناقلة «وديان» التابعة للمملكة العربية السعودية أثناء عبورها مضيق هرمز، أمس (الثلاثاء).
وأكّد البديوي، في بيان، أن «هذا الاعتداء الإجرامي يمثل انتهاكاً صارخاً للقانون الدولي، ولقواعد سلامة الممرات البحرية الدولية»، موضحاً أن الاعتداء يعكس استمرار النهج العدائي والاستفزازي الذي تنتهجه إيران، وإصرارها على زعزعة أمن المنطقة، وتقويض أمن الطاقة العالمي، وتهديد حركة التجارة الدولية، في تحد سافر لكافة القوانين والأعراف والاتفاقيات الدولية.
وشدّد البديوي على تضامن دول المجلس الكامل مع المملكة العربية السعودية، ودعمها كافة الإجراءات التي تتخذها لحماية وصون مصالحها الوطنية.
من جهتها، دانت وزارة الخارجية السورية الهجمات التي استهدفت ناقلتين تابعتين للسعودية وقطر أثناء عبورهما مضيق هرمز، أمس.
وقالت الخارجية السورية، في بيان، إن الهجوم على الناقلتين «اعتداء مرفوض يشكل انتهاكاً للقانون الدولي وحرية الملاحة البحرية ويهدد أمن واستقرار المنطقة»، معلنة تضامن سورية الكامل مع السعودية وقطر إزاء الهجوم على الناقلتين.
ودعت الخارجية السورية المجتمع الدولي للعمل الجاد بما يسهم في صون الأمن والاستقرار الإقليميين وحماية الممرات المائية الدولية.
بدورها، دانت مصر استهداف إيران ناقلة غاز قطرية خلال عبورها مضيق هرمز، معربة في بيان أصدرته وزارة الخارجية عن رفضها «كافة الأعمال التي من شأنها تهديد أمن واستقرار المنطقة أو تعريض حرية الملاحة في الممرات المائية الدولية للخطر».
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, expressed his condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of Iran's targeting of the tanker "Wadiyan," which belongs to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz yesterday (Tuesday).
Al-Budaiwi affirmed, in a statement, that "this criminal attack represents a blatant violation of international law and the rules of safety for international maritime corridors," explaining that the attack reflects the continuation of the hostile and provocative approach adopted by Iran, its insistence on destabilizing the security of the region, undermining global energy security, and threatening international trade movements, in a blatant challenge to all laws, norms, and international agreements.
Al-Budaiwi emphasized the full solidarity of the Council's member states with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their support for all measures it takes to protect and safeguard its national interests.
For its part, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks that targeted two tankers belonging to Saudi Arabia and Qatar while they were passing through the Strait of Hormuz yesterday.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement that the attack on the two tankers "is an unacceptable aggression that constitutes a violation of international law and freedom of maritime navigation and threatens the security and stability of the region," announcing Syria's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Qatar regarding the attack on the tankers.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry called on the international community to work seriously to contribute to preserving regional security and stability and protecting international waterways.
For its part, Egypt condemned Iran's targeting of a Qatari gas tanker while it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz, expressing in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs its rejection of "all actions that threaten the security and stability of the region or jeopardize freedom of navigation in international waterways."
