أعلن مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام، اليوم (السبت)، إتلاف 724 قطعة من الألغام والمخلفات الحربية في مدينة المكلا بمحافظة حضرموت شرق اليمن.
وأوضح المشروع أن فرق الطوارئ التابعة له، بالتعاون مع المركز التنفيذي للتعامل مع الألغام، نفذت عملية الإتلاف يوم الأربعاء، وشملت 29 لغماً بلاستيكياً مضاداً للأفراد، ولغماً موجهاً، و55 قذيفة هاون عيار 60، و88 قذيفة مدفعية عيار 23، و12 قذيفة «آر بي جي»، و18 قنبلة يدوية، و18 حشوة «آر بي جي»، و486 فيوزاً لقذائف مدفعية، و17 حشوة لقذائف دبابات.
وأشار إلى أن هذه العملية هي التاسعة في محافظة حضرموت منذ منتصف يناير الماضي، ليرتفع بذلك إجمالي ما أتلفته فرق المشروع منذ 17 يناير إلى 16,187 قطعة من الألغام والعبوات الناسفة والذخائر غير المنفجرة.
وفي محافظة حجة، نجح مشروع «مسام» في تجنيب سكان قرية بني خوري بمديرية حيران كارثة محتملة، عقب بلاغ من شيخ القرية علي خوري عن وجود حقل ألغام لا يبعد سوى نحو 100 متر عن المنازل.
وأكد المشروع أن فرقه استجابت فوراً للبلاغ، وباشرت أعمال المسح والتطهير لتأمين المنطقة وحماية المدنيين.
وقال قائد الفريق المهندس البراء الروحاني إن الفريق تمكن خلال الساعات الأولى من تفكيك لغمين مضادين للأفراد، ويواصل التعامل مع ثلاثة ألغام مضادة للدبابات، أحدها مزود بشَرَك خداعي يستهدف فرق نزع الألغام.
ودعا الروحاني المواطنين إلى عدم الاقتراب من الموقع حتى استكمال أعمال المسح وتأمين المنطقة بالكامل، حفاظاً على سلامتهم.
The "Masam" project for mine clearance announced today (Saturday) the destruction of 724 pieces of mines and war remnants in the city of Mukalla in Hadhramaut Governorate, eastern Yemen.
The project explained that its emergency teams, in cooperation with the Executive Center for Mine Action, carried out the destruction operation on Wednesday, which included 29 plastic anti-personnel mines, one guided mine, 55 60mm mortar shells, 88 23mm artillery shells, 12 RPG shells, 18 hand grenades, 18 RPG charges, 486 fuses for artillery shells, and 17 charges for tank shells.
It noted that this operation is the ninth in Hadhramaut Governorate since mid-January, bringing the total number of items destroyed by the project teams since January 17 to 16,187 pieces of mines, explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance.
In Hajjah Governorate, the "Masam" project successfully spared the residents of Bani Khouri village in Haran District from a potential disaster, following a report from the village chief, Ali Khouri, about a minefield located just about 100 meters from the houses.
The project confirmed that its teams responded immediately to the report and began surveying and clearing operations to secure the area and protect civilians.
The team leader, engineer Al-Baraa Al-Ruhani, stated that the team was able to dismantle two anti-personnel mines in the first few hours and continues to deal with three anti-tank mines, one of which is equipped with a deceptive trap targeting mine clearance teams.
Al-Ruhani urged citizens not to approach the site until the surveying and securing of the area is fully completed, in order to ensure their safety.
