فيما قال الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب إن إيران طلبت اجتماعاً مع الولايات المتحدة، ذكر مسؤول في البيت الأبيض أن المبعوثين الأمريكيين ستيف ويتكوف وجاريد كوشنر سيلتقيان رئيس الوزراء وزير الخارجية القطري الشيخ محمد بن عبد الرحمن غداً (الثلاثاء)، لبحث ملف المفاوضات مع إيران.
ونقل موقع «أكسيوس» عن المسؤول قوله: من المنتظر أن تعقد الفرق الفنية الأمريكية والإيرانية اجتماعات منفصلة مع الوسطاء القطريين والباكستانيين الأربعاء.
ويتوجه ويتكوف وكوشنر إلى الدوحة خلال الساعات القادمة، ووفقاً للمسؤول فإن وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو، والمبعوث الخاص ستيف ويتكوف سيقدمان إحاطة عبر الهاتف، اليوم، لمجلسي النواب والشيوخ الأمريكيين حول الاتفاق مع إيران.
من جهتها، أكّدت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية أن أكثر من 50 ألف عسكري أمريكي يعملون حالياً في أنحاء المنطقة، وأكدت أنهم يقظون ومستعدون.
وذكرت القيادة أن قائدها براد كوبر التقى، خلال جولة في الشرق الأوسط، مسؤولين مدنيين وعسكريين بارزين في إسرائيل ولبنان، موضحة أن كوبر ووفده التقوا في لبنان الرئيس جوزيف عون، وقائد الجيش رودولف هيكل، وبحثوا المسار القادم لتنفيذ اتفاق إطاري تاريخي وُقّع في واشنطن، الجمعة.
في غضون ذلك، أكّد الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، اليوم، أن بلاده وسلطنة عُمان اتفقتا على العمل مع شركائهما لإزالة الألغام من مضيق هرمز، موضحاً أنه التقى سلطان عُمان هيثم بن طارق في قصر الإليزيه بباريس، وقررا التعاون مع الشركاء لإزالة الألغام من المضيق، بما يضمن تأمين طرق الملاحة وحرية العبور غير المشروطة عبر مضيق هرمز.
وأضاف أن باريس ومسقط تعملان معاً على تهدئة الأوضاع في الشرق الأوسط في ظل التوترات التي شهدتها المنطقة خلال الأسابيع الماضية، والتي أثرت في حركة الملاحة والتجارة العالمية.
While U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran requested a meeting with the United States, a White House official mentioned that American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will meet with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman tomorrow (Tuesday) to discuss the negotiations with Iran.
Axios reported the official as saying: It is expected that American and Iranian technical teams will hold separate meetings with Qatari and Pakistani mediators on Wednesday.
Witkoff and Kushner are heading to Doha in the coming hours, and according to the official, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will provide a briefing via phone today to the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate regarding the agreement with Iran.
For its part, the U.S. Central Command confirmed that more than 50,000 American military personnel are currently operating throughout the region, affirming that they are vigilant and prepared.
The command mentioned that its leader, Brad Cooper, met during a tour in the Middle East with prominent civilian and military officials in Israel and Lebanon, explaining that Cooper and his delegation met in Lebanon with President Joseph Aoun and Army Commander Rudolf Haikal, discussing the next steps for implementing a historic framework agreement signed in Washington on Friday.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed today that his country and the Sultanate of Oman agreed to work with their partners to clear mines from the Strait of Hormuz, explaining that he met with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq at the Élysée Palace in Paris, and they decided to cooperate with partners to remove mines from the strait, ensuring the security of navigation routes and unconditional passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
He added that Paris and Muscat are working together to calm the situation in the Middle East amid the tensions that have affected the region in recent weeks, which have impacted global shipping and trade.
