كشفت مصادر عراقية النقاب عن توقيف 47 مسؤولاً أغلبهم نواب في البرلمان العراقي، بعد تنفيذ القوات الأمنية حملة اعتقالات في المنطقة الخضراء بالعاصمة بغداد، اليوم (الأحد).
وأفصحت المصادر أن الاعتقالات طالت مثنى السامرائي زعيم تحالف العزم، ورئيس كتلة برلمانية تضم 19 نائباً، حسن الخفاجي، إبراهيم الصميدعي، عالية نصيف، بهاء النوري، مظر الكروي، محمد الكربولي ومحمد فرمان.
وأوقفت قوات الأمن العراقي هند العباسي، محمد سارمان، ومحمد الصيهود (نائب سابق)، وداهمت منزل النائب علاء سكر دون أن تجده. وأوقفت أيضاً النائب بهاء نوري.
واعتقل علي معارج وكيل سابق بوزارة النفط، ومشمول بالعقوبات الأمريكية، ومحمد المياحي محافظ واسط سابقاً ونائب في البرلمان، والنائب زياد الجنابي، ومضر الكروي.
أما حسين مونس، النائب في البرلمان عن حزب الله، فقد تمّت مداهمة منزله دون العثور عليه.
وأفادت المصادر بأن الاعتقالات شملت أعضاء في مجلس النواب رفعت عنهم الحصانة، ومسؤولين وردت أسماؤهم في اعترافات وكيل وزارة النفط السابق عدنان الجميلي، الموقوف منذ مايو الماضي.
من جهته، أكد مسؤول أمني عراقي رفيع أن القضية تتعلق بملف تمويل الفصائل والنفط الإيراني وتهريب الدولار إضافة للفساد، في إشارة إلى الفصائل المدعومة من طهران، بحسب ما نقلت عنه وكالة «فرانس برس».
وكان رئيس الوزراء العراقي الجديد علي الزيدي تعهد بمحاربة الفساد وسوء الإدارة اللذين عانى منهما العراق لعقود. ووعد بحصر سلاح في يد الدولة.
وفي خطوة لإظهار التزامها بمكافحة الفساد، صادرت السلطات أكثر من 85 مليون دولار في وقت سابق من هذا الشهر في قضية فساد مرتبطة بالجميلي.
فيما أكد مجلس القضاء الأعلى حينها القبض على مدير دائرة الصحة في محافظة صلاح الدين رائد الجبوري، بناء على «اعترافات أدلى بها الجميلي أثناء استجوابه».
وشملت الإجراءات القانونية في تلك القضية «ضبط وحجز 70 عقاراً و21 سيارة حديثة، إلى جانب مصوغات ذهبية تقدر بنحو 3 كيلوغرامات».
Iraqi sources revealed the arrest of 17 officials, most of whom are members of the Iraqi parliament, after security forces carried out a campaign of arrests in the Green Zone of the capital, Baghdad, today (Sunday).
The sources disclosed that the arrests included Muthana al-Samarrai, the leader of the Azm Alliance, and the head of a parliamentary bloc that includes 19 deputies, Hassan al-Khafaji, Ibrahim al-Sumaida'i, Alia Nasif, Baha al-Nouri, Mudar al-Kurawi, Muhammad al-Karbuli, and Muhammad Farhan.
The Iraqi security forces also arrested Hind al-Abbasi, Muhammad Sarman, and Muhammad al-Sayyhud (a former deputy), and raided the house of Deputy Alaa Sukkar without finding him. They also arrested Deputy Baha Nouri.
Ali Ma'arij, a former deputy at the Ministry of Oil, who is subject to U.S. sanctions, was arrested, along with Muhammad al-Miyahi, the former governor of Wasit and a parliament deputy, and Deputy Ziyad al-Janabi, and Mudar al-Kurawi.
As for Hussein Mouns, the deputy in parliament representing Hezbollah, his house was raided without finding him.
Sources reported that the arrests included members of the House of Representatives who had their immunity lifted, and officials whose names appeared in the confessions of the former Deputy Minister of Oil, Adnan al-Jumaili, who has been detained since last May.
For his part, a senior Iraqi security official confirmed that the case relates to the financing of factions, Iranian oil, dollar smuggling, in addition to corruption, referring to factions supported by Tehran, according to what the French news agency reported.
The new Iraqi Prime Minister, Ali al-Zaydi, pledged to fight corruption and mismanagement that Iraq has suffered from for decades. He promised to confine weapons to the hands of the state.
In a move to demonstrate its commitment to combating corruption, the authorities seized more than 85 million dollars earlier this month in a corruption case linked to al-Jumaili.
At that time, the Supreme Judicial Council confirmed the arrest of the director of the Health Department in Salah al-Din Governorate, Raed al-Jubouri, based on "confessions made by al-Jumaili during his interrogation."
The legal measures in that case included "the seizure and confiscation of 70 properties and 21 modern vehicles, along with gold jewelry estimated at about 3 kilograms."
