فيما بدأ رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني شهباز شريف وقائد الجيش الباكستاني عاصم منير زيارتهما إلى الصين في إطار التحركات الدبلوماسية لإنهاء الحرب مع إيران، كشفت وسائل إعلام أمريكية اليوم (الإثنين) منح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب إيران مهلة تصل إلى 7 أيام لصياغة اتفاق مقبول وفق مبدأ «لا مخزون نووياً ولا دولارات مجمدة».
ونقلت شبكة «فوكس نيوز» عن مسؤول رفيع في الإدارة الأمريكية قوله إن الاتفاق لن يتم توقيعه اليوم، وإن ترمب منح إيران مهلة تتراوح بين 5 و7 أيام لصياغة اتفاق مقبول تحت نهج «لا مخزون نووياً ولا دولارات مجمدة»، مبينة أن إيران وافقت من حيث المبدأ على إطار التفاهم، فيما جرى إنجاز 95% منه.
وأشار المسؤول إلى وجود اتفاق بشأن المخزون النووي ومضيق هرمز، بينما لا تزال «الصياغة النهائية» قيد النقاش. ويأتي ذلك بعد ساعات من تأكيد الرئيس الأمريكي أنه شدد على فريقه المفاوض بعدم التسرع في إبرام الاتفاق، مؤكداً أن المفاوضات تجري بشكل منظم وبنّاء، وأن الوقت في صالح واشنطن.
في غضون ذلك، التقى الرئيس الصيني شي جين بينغ اليوم رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني شهباز شريف في بكين. وبحسب وكالة «شينخوا» الصينية، جاء اللقاء بعد محادثات أجراها شريف في وقت سابق من اليوم نفسه مع رئيس الوزراء الصيني لي تشيانغ، ثاني أبرز مسؤولي الدولة.
وأفادت قناتا «العربية» و«الحدث» بأن قائد الجيش الباكستاني عاصم منير انضم إلى رئيس الوزراء خلال اجتماعه مع رئيس الوزراء الصيني، مبينتين أن إسلام آباد تصر على أن تؤدي بكين دور الضامن في أي اتفاق بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران.
وذكر التلفزيون الباكستاني أن قائد الجيش الباكستاني، الذي يوصف بأنه المفاوض الرئيسي في المحادثات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، وصل إلى الصين برفقة رئيس الوزراء شهباز شريف للقاء دبلوماسيين صينيين.
وكانت الصين قد أكدت نيتها التعاون مع باكستان «للإسهام إيجاباً في إعادة السلم والاستقرار إلى الشرق الأوسط في أقرب فرصة».
As Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir began their visit to China as part of diplomatic efforts to end the war with Iran, American media revealed today (Monday) that President Donald Trump has given Iran a deadline of up to 7 days to draft an acceptable agreement based on the principle of "no nuclear stockpile and no frozen dollars."
Fox News reported that a senior official in the U.S. administration stated that the agreement will not be signed today, and that Trump has given Iran a timeframe of between 5 to 7 days to draft an acceptable agreement under the approach of "no nuclear stockpile and no frozen dollars," indicating that Iran has agreed in principle to the framework of understanding, with 95% of it completed.
The official noted that there is an agreement regarding the nuclear stockpile and the Strait of Hormuz, while the "final wording" is still under discussion. This comes hours after the U.S. president confirmed that he emphasized to his negotiating team not to rush into finalizing the agreement, asserting that negotiations are proceeding in an organized and constructive manner, and that time is on Washington's side.
Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping met today with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Beijing. According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua, the meeting followed talks that Sharif had earlier in the day with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the second most senior official in the state.
Channels "Al Arabiya" and "Al Hadath" reported that Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir joined the Prime Minister during his meeting with the Chinese Premier, indicating that Islamabad insists that Beijing play a guarantor role in any agreement between the United States and Iran.
Pakistani television mentioned that the Army Chief, who is described as the main negotiator in the talks between the United States and Iran, arrived in China accompanied by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to meet with Chinese diplomats.
China has confirmed its intention to cooperate with Pakistan "to positively contribute to restoring peace and stability in the Middle East as soon as possible."
