بحث الرئيس التركي رجب طيب أردوغان، أمس (الأربعاء)، مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين، إلى جانب عدد من القضايا الإقليمية والدولية الراهنة.
ونقلت دائرة الاتصال في الرئاسة التركية عن أردوغان قوله إنه يعتبر قرار تمديد وقف إطلاق النار الأمريكي مع إيران تطوراً إيجابياً، معرباً عن ثقته في إمكانية التوصل إلى «حل منطقي» للقضايا الخلافية بين الجانبين.
وأكد الرئيس التركي أن بلاده ستستمر في دعم كل المبادرات البناءة الهادفة إلى تسوية النزاعات بالطرق السلمية.
الملفان السوري واللبناني
وفي ما يتعلق بالأوضاع في سورية، شدد أردوغان على أن تحقيق استقرار دائم في هذا البلد سيمثل «مكسباً مهماً للمنطقة بأسرها». كما أكد ضرورة الحيلولة دون تفاقم الأوضاع في لبنان، وأهمية العمل على تهدئة التوترات هناك.
قمة «الناتو» في أنقرة
وأشار أردوغان إلى استمرار الاستعدادات التركية لاستضافة قمة حلف شمال الأطلسي (ناتو) في أنقرة، مؤكداً أن تركيا تبذل أقصى الجهود لضمان نجاح هذه القمة على الأصعدة التنظيمية والسياسية كافة.
التعازي بهجوم كاليفورنيا
وخلال الاتصال، قدم أردوغان تعازيه للرئيس ترمب وللشعب الأمريكي في أعقاب الهجوم الأخير الذي استهدف مسجدًا في ولاية كاليفورنيا، معبراً عن رفض تركيا القاطع لجرائم الكراهية والعنف التي تستهدف أي جماعة دينية أو عرقية.
يأتي هذا الاتصال في ظل تحسن ملحوظ في العلاقات التركية-الأمريكية منذ عودة ترمب إلى البيت الأبيض، خصوصاً في مجالات الاقتصاد والأمن والتعاون في مكافحة الإرهاب.
وتُعد تركيا عضواً مهماً في حلف شمال الأطلسي، وتلعب دوراً محورياً في عدة ملفات إقليمية حساسة مثل سورية وليبيا وشرق المتوسط.
وتحظى قمة الناتو القادمة في أنقرة بأهمية كبيرة، ومن المتوقع أن تناقش قضايا الأمن الأوروبي، والوضع في أوكرانيا، والتحديات في الشرق الأوسط.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed, yesterday (Wednesday), the bilateral relations between the two countries with U.S. President Donald Trump, along with a number of current regional and international issues.
The Turkish presidential communications office reported Erdoğan as saying that he considers the U.S. decision to extend the ceasefire with Iran a positive development, expressing his confidence in the possibility of reaching a "logical solution" to the contentious issues between the two sides.
The Turkish president confirmed that his country will continue to support all constructive initiatives aimed at resolving disputes through peaceful means.
The Syrian and Lebanese Files
Regarding the situation in Syria, Erdoğan emphasized that achieving lasting stability in this country would represent "a significant gain for the entire region." He also stressed the need to prevent the worsening of conditions in Lebanon and the importance of working to ease tensions there.
NATO Summit in Ankara
Erdoğan noted the ongoing Turkish preparations to host the NATO summit in Ankara, affirming that Turkey is making every effort to ensure the success of this summit on all organizational and political levels.
Condolences for the California Attack
During the call, Erdoğan offered his condolences to President Trump and the American people following the recent attack targeting a mosque in California, expressing Turkey's firm rejection of hate crimes and violence targeting any religious or ethnic group.
This call comes amid a noticeable improvement in Turkish-American relations since Trump's return to the White House, particularly in the areas of economy, security, and cooperation in combating terrorism.
Turkey is an important member of NATO and plays a pivotal role in several sensitive regional issues such as Syria, Libya, and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The upcoming NATO summit in Ankara is of great significance, and it is expected to discuss European security issues, the situation in Ukraine, and challenges in the Middle East.
