أعلنت وزارة الدفاع العراقية، اليوم (الأربعاء)، مقتل 7 جنود وإصابة 13 آخرين في قصف جوي استهدف موقع الحبانية العسكري بمحافظة الأنبار (120 كيلومتراً غرب بغداد).
وقالت الوزارة، في بيان: «تعرض مستوصف الحبانية العسكري وشعبة أشغال الحبانية التابعة لآمرية موقع الحبانية في وزارة الدفاع صباح اليوم إلى ضربة جوية آثمة، أعقبها رمي بمدفع الطائرة، ما أدى إلى استشهاد 7 من مقاتلينا وإصابة 13 آخرين، أثناء تأديتهم واجبهم الوطني والإنساني، ومازال البحث جاريا من قبل فرق الإنقاذ داخل مكان الحادث».
وأوضحت الوزارة أن هذا الاستهداف يعد انتهاكاً صارخاً وخطيراً لكل القوانين والأعراف الدولية التي تُحرم استهداف المنشآت الطبية والكوادر العاملة فيها، مبينة أن هذا العمل الإجرامي يمثل تصعيداً خطيراً يستوجب الوقف عنده بحزم ومحاسبة الجهات المسؤولة عنه، إذ إن استهداف المرافق الطبية جريمة نكراء بكل المقاييس، كونها تستهدف مؤسسات تُعنى بإنقاذ الأرواح وتقديم الرعاية للمقاتلين.
وقالت وزارة الدفاع العراقية «إن هذه الاعتداءات الجبانة لن تثني كوادرنا عن أداء واجبهم، بل ستزيدهم عزيمة وإصراراً على مواصلة مهامهم في خدمة الوطن وأبنائه»، مضيفة: الوزارة تحتفظ بحقها الكامل في اتخاذ جميع الإجراءات اللازمة للرد على هذا العدوان، وفق الأطر القانونية المعتمدة.
وكانت قاعدة الحبانية قد تعرضت أمس لضربة خلّفت 15 قتيلاً في صفوف الحشد بينهم قائد عمليات الأنبار سعد البعيجي.
واتهم الحشد، الولايات المتحدة بتنفيذ الهجوم، لكن مسؤولا أمنيا قال، اليوم، إن طائرة مقاتلة أطلقت صاروخين على قاعدة الحبانية.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced today (Wednesday) the death of 7 soldiers and the injury of 13 others in an airstrike that targeted the Al-Habaniya military site in Anbar province (120 kilometers west of Baghdad).
The ministry stated in a statement: "The Al-Habaniya military clinic and the Al-Habaniya Works Department, which is part of the Al-Habaniya site command in the Ministry of Defense, were subjected to a criminal airstrike this morning, followed by cannon fire from the aircraft, resulting in the martyrdom of 7 of our fighters and the injury of 13 others while they were performing their national and humanitarian duty. Search and rescue teams are still working at the scene of the incident."
The ministry clarified that this targeting constitutes a blatant and serious violation of all international laws and norms that prohibit targeting medical facilities and their staff, indicating that this criminal act represents a serious escalation that requires a firm response and accountability of those responsible for it, as targeting medical facilities is a heinous crime by all standards, since it targets institutions dedicated to saving lives and providing care to fighters.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defense stated, "These cowardly attacks will not deter our personnel from fulfilling their duty, but will rather increase their determination and resolve to continue their missions in serving the homeland and its people," adding that the ministry reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to respond to this aggression, in accordance with the established legal frameworks.
Yesterday, the Al-Habaniya base was subjected to a strike that resulted in 15 fatalities among the Popular Mobilization Forces, including the commander of Anbar operations, Saad Al-Baiji.
The Popular Mobilization Forces accused the United States of carrying out the attack, but a security official stated today that a fighter jet launched two missiles at the Al-Habaniya base.
