أعلن وزير خارجية أذربيجان جيهون بيراموف، اليوم (الجمعة)، أن بلاده سحبت دبلوماسييها من إيران حفاظاً على سلامتهم، بعد يوم من إعلان باكو أن 4 طائرات إيرانية مسيّرة عبرت حدودها وأصابت 4 أشخاص في جيب ناخيتشفان.
وقال وزير الخارجية إن أذربيجان تُجلي موظفيها من سفارتها في طهران وقنصليتها العامة في تبريز.
وكان الرئيس الأذربيجاني إلهام علييف، اتهم أمس (الخميس)، إيران بتنفيذ «عمل إرهابي وعدواني لا مبرر له»، وقال إنه أصدر تعليمات لجيشه بالتحضير لتدابير انتقامية وتنفيذها.
واستدعت أذربيجان سفير إيران وأكدت أن الهجوم لن يمر «بدون رد».
من جهته، اتهم وزير الخارجية الإيراني، الخميس، إسرائيل بإطلاق مسيرات على أذربيجان المجاورة، عازياً ذلك إلى سعيها «للإضرار بالعلاقات الجيدة» بين البلدين.
وخلال اتصال هاتفي بنظيره الأذربيجاني بيراموف، نفى عباس عراقجي أن تكون إيران قد أطلقت مقذوفات على أذربيجان، ودان دور النظام الإسرائيلي في هذه الهجمات الهادفة إلى تحويل انتباه الرأي العام والإضرار بالعلاقات الجيدة بين إيران وجيرانها، بحسب بيان للخارجية الإيرانية.
ومن جانبها، نفت هيئة الأركان العامة للقوات المسلحة الإيرانية المعلومات المتعلقة بإطلاق طائرة مسيرة باتجاه الأراضي الأذربيجانية.
ونددت الخارجية الأذربيجانية في بيان بالهجمات، وطالبت إيران بتقديم تفسير لسقوط مسيرات قرب مطار ناختشيفان الدولي، على بعد نحو 10 كيلومترات من الحدود مع إيران.
وأدانت الخارجية التركية الهجوم بشدة، مضيفة في بيان أن الهجمات التي تستهدف دولا أخرى في المنطقة وتزيد من خطر تَمَدُّد النزاع يجب أن تتوقف فورا.
ويعيش في إيران أعداد كبيرة من الأذربيجانيين، وقد اتهمت طهران باكو بالسماح للمخابرات الإسرائيلية بالعمل من هناك. وسعت أذربيجان بدورها إلى تقديم تأكيدات بعدم استخدام أراضيها لشن هجوم على إيران.
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov announced today (Friday) that his country has withdrawn its diplomats from Iran for their safety, a day after Baku reported that four Iranian drones crossed its borders and injured four people in the Nakhchivan exclave.
The Foreign Minister stated that Azerbaijan is evacuating its staff from its embassy in Tehran and its consulate general in Tabriz.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accused Iran yesterday (Thursday) of carrying out a "terrorist and unjustified aggression," and said he had instructed his army to prepare for and carry out retaliatory measures.
Azerbaijan summoned the Iranian ambassador and confirmed that the attack would not go "unanswered."
For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister accused Israel on Thursday of launching drones at neighboring Azerbaijan, attributing this to its efforts to "harm the good relations" between the two countries.
During a phone call with his Azerbaijani counterpart Bayramov, Abbas Araqchi denied that Iran had fired projectiles at Azerbaijan and condemned the role of the Israeli regime in these attacks, which aim to divert public attention and harm the good relations between Iran and its neighbors, according to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
For its part, the Iranian General Staff denied the information regarding the launch of a drone towards Azerbaijani territory.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks in a statement and demanded that Iran provide an explanation for the drones falling near Nakhchivan International Airport, about 10 kilometers from the border with Iran.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack, adding in a statement that attacks targeting other countries in the region and increasing the risk of conflict escalation must stop immediately.
There are large numbers of Azerbaijanis living in Iran, and Tehran has accused Baku of allowing Israeli intelligence to operate from there. Azerbaijan, in turn, has sought to provide assurances that its territory would not be used to launch an attack on Iran.
