شدّد وزير الخارجية المصرية الدكتور بدر عبدالعاطي على أهمية إطلاق مسار إنساني فعّال يضمن وصول المساعدات الإنسانية إلى السودان دون عوائق، بالتوازي مع زيادة الدعم الإغاثي وتعزيز التعاون مع الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي والوكالات الإنسانية، مؤكداً ضرورة تضافر الجهود الإقليمية والدولية لدعم وقف شامل لإطلاق النار وتهيئة الظروف لإطلاق عملية سياسية جامعة تُلبي تطلعات الشعب السوداني في الأمن والاستقرار والتنمية.
وأكد، خلال استقبال نظيره السوداني محيي الدين اليوم (الثلاثاء)، ثوابت الموقف المصري الداعم لوحدة السودان وسلامة أراضيه وصون مؤسساته الوطنية، ورفض أي محاولات تستهدف تقسيم البلاد أو المساس بسيادتها واستقرارها، مجدداً إدانة مصر للفظائع والانتهاكات المروعة التي شهدتها الفاشر وكردفان، ومؤكداً تضامن مصر الكامل مع الشعب السوداني الشقيق في ظل ما يواجهه من تحديات جسيمة.
وبحسب بيان صادر عن وزارة الخارجية المصرية، تناول اللقاء سبل دعم الجهود الرامية للتوصل إلى تسوية شاملة للأزمة السودانية، في إطار العلاقات الاستراتيجية الوثيقة التي تجمع البلدين الشقيقين، والحرص المتبادل على تعزيز أوجه التعاون الثنائي في مختلف المجالات، إلى جانب مواصلة التنسيق والتشاور إزاء القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك بما يخدم مصالح الشعبين.
وخلال الاجتماع، استعرض عبدالعاطي استضافة القاهرة أخيراً الاجتماع الخامس للآلية التشاورية لتعزيز وتنسيق جهود السلام في السودان برئاسة مصر، وما مثله الاجتماع من منصة مهمة لتوحيد الرؤى بين الشركاء الإقليميين والدوليين، ودعم مسار التوصل إلى هدنة إنسانية تفضي إلى وقف مستدام لإطلاق النار، تمهيداً لإطلاق عملية سياسية شاملة بملكية سودانية.
كما تناول اللقاء التنسيق الوثيق بين مصر والسودان إزاء القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وعلى رأسها ملف مياه النيل، إذ أكد الوزيران تمسك البلدين بالحقوق المائية التاريخية لكليهما، ورفضهما لأي إجراءات أحادية من شأنها الإضرار بمصالح دولتي المصب، والتشديد على أهمية الالتزام بقواعد القانون الدولي ذات الصلة، بما يحقق المنفعة المشتركة ويحفظ الأمن المائي لكل شعوب حوض النيل.
فيما أعرب وزير خارجية السودان عن تقديره للدور المصري الداعم للسودان وشعبه، مثمناً الجهود السياسية والإنسانية التي تضطلع بها مصر، ومشيداً بالجهود المصرية الإغاثية والطبية الحثيثة لتوفير المساعدات للشعب السوداني، مؤكداً أهمية استمرار التنسيق والتشاور الوثيق بين البلدين خلال المرحلة المقبلة، بما يسهم في دعم وحدة السودان واستعادة الأمن والاستقرار في بلاده.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aati emphasized the importance of launching an effective humanitarian pathway that ensures the delivery of humanitarian aid to Sudan without obstacles, alongside increasing relief support and enhancing cooperation with the United Nations, the African Union, and humanitarian agencies. He affirmed the necessity of regional and international efforts to support a comprehensive ceasefire and create conditions for launching an inclusive political process that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, stability, and development.
During his meeting with his Sudanese counterpart, Mohiuddin, today (Tuesday), he reiterated the constants of the Egyptian stance supporting the unity of Sudan, the integrity of its territory, and the preservation of its national institutions, rejecting any attempts aimed at dividing the country or undermining its sovereignty and stability. He renewed Egypt's condemnation of the atrocities and horrific violations witnessed in El Fasher and Kordofan, affirming Egypt's full solidarity with the brotherly Sudanese people in light of the severe challenges they face.
According to a statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the meeting discussed ways to support efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive settlement to the Sudanese crisis, within the framework of the close strategic relations that bind the two brotherly countries, and the mutual desire to enhance aspects of bilateral cooperation in various fields, alongside continuing coordination and consultation on issues of common interest that serve the interests of both peoples.
During the meeting, Abdel Aati reviewed Cairo's recent hosting of the fifth meeting of the consultative mechanism to enhance and coordinate peace efforts in Sudan, chaired by Egypt, and what the meeting represented as an important platform for unifying visions among regional and international partners, and supporting the pathway to a humanitarian truce leading to a sustainable ceasefire, paving the way for launching a comprehensive political process with Sudanese ownership.
The meeting also addressed the close coordination between Egypt and Sudan regarding issues of common interest, foremost of which is the Nile water file, where both ministers affirmed the two countries' commitment to their historical water rights and their rejection of any unilateral actions that could harm the interests of the downstream countries, emphasizing the importance of adhering to relevant international law principles, achieving mutual benefit, and preserving water security for all the peoples of the Nile Basin.
Meanwhile, the Sudanese Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for Egypt's supportive role for Sudan and its people, praising the political and humanitarian efforts undertaken by Egypt, and commending the diligent Egyptian relief and medical efforts to provide assistance to the Sudanese people, affirming the importance of continuing close coordination and consultation between the two countries in the upcoming phase, which contributes to supporting Sudan's unity and restoring security and stability in the country.
