وعرضت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية صوراً لنتنياهو هو يستخدم هاتفاً جوالاً (الإثنين) داخل الكنيست وقد غطيت الكاميرا بأشرطة لاصقة، مما دفع إلى طرح تساؤلات حول سبب هذا الإجراء، عازية ذلك إلى خوفه من التجسس وتسجيل المكالمات.
ووفقاً لصحيفة «معاريف» الإسرائيلية، فإن نتنياهو في مناسبات عدة لا يحمل هاتفاً محمولاً بشكل دائم، بينما يمتلك مساعدوه هواتف متعددة يتم استبدالها بانتظام.
وأشارت إلى أن جميع الموظفين والزوار للمنشآت الصناعية العسكرية أو الأمنية الحساسة يُطلب منهم عند بوابات الدخول وضع شريط لاصق على الكاميرات لضمان عدم استخدامها خلال الزيارة، مبينة أن وضع الملصقات لا يتعلق بالخوف من استخدام كاميرات الهاتف للتصوير في مناطق محظورة، بل يهدف إلى الحماية من احتمالية اختراق الهاتف وتشغيل الكاميرات عن بعد دون علم صاحبه.

According to the Israeli newspaper "Maariv," Netanyahu does not always carry a mobile phone on several occasions, while his aides possess multiple phones that are regularly replaced.
It was noted that all employees and visitors to sensitive military or security industrial facilities are required at the entry gates to place tape over the cameras to ensure they are not used during the visit, indicating that the placement of the tape is not related to fear of using phone cameras for photography in prohibited areas, but rather aims to protect against the possibility of phone hacking and remote camera activation without the owner's knowledge.
