أكد وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي، عدم وجود خطة لدى السلطات في بلاده لتنفيذ أحكام إعدام، في ظل الاحتجاجات التي اندلعت منذ أيام في إيران وأدت لسقوط قتلى وجرحى. وأوضح عراقجي، في مقابلة مع شبكة «فوكس نيوز» أنه: «لا توجد خطة لتنفيذ أحكام إعدام شنقاً.. الإعدام شنقاً أمر مرفوض تماماً».
وأشار الوزير إلى أن «المظاهرات السلمية المستمرة في إيران شهدت 10 أيام من الاحتجاجات على الصعوبات الاقتصادية التي تواجهها البلاد، قبل أن تعقبها ثلاثة أيام من العنف الذي دبرته إسرائيل»، مشدداً على أن الهدوء قد عاد.
وأضاف: «أستطيع أن أقول لكم، أنا واثق من أنه ليست هناك مخططات لتنفيذ إعدامات شنقاً».
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that there is no plan by the authorities in his country to carry out executions amid the protests that erupted days ago in Iran, which resulted in casualties and injuries. Araghchi explained in an interview with Fox News that: "There is no plan to carry out hangings... hanging is completely rejected."
The minister pointed out that "the ongoing peaceful demonstrations in Iran witnessed 10 days of protests against the economic difficulties facing the country, followed by three days of violence orchestrated by Israel," emphasizing that calm has returned.
He added: "I can tell you, I am confident that there are no plans to carry out hangings."
