عيّن الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، اليوم الجمعة، رئيس الاستخبارات العسكرية الأوكرانية كيريلو بودانوف، رئيساً لمكتب الرئاسة، خلفاً لأندري ييرماك، الذي استقال بعد تورطه في فضيحة فساد.
وأعلن زيلينسكي في بيان عبر منصة «إكس»، أن اختيار بودانوف يأتي في وقت تحتاج فيه البلاد إلى تركيز أكبر على القضايا الأمنية وتطوير قوات الدفاع والأمن، إضافة إلى المسار الدبلوماسي للمفاوضات، معتبراً أن خبرة بودانوف في هذه المجالات ستُسهم في تحقيق نتائج ملموسة.
وقال: في هذه المرحلة، تحتاج أوكرانيا إلى تركيز متزايد على الأمن وتطوير قوات الدفاع والأمن والمسار الدبلوماسي، وسيكون مكتب الرئيس مكرساً بشكل أساسي لتحقيق هذه المهمات. كيريلو يمتلك خبرة متخصصة وقوة كافية لتحقيق النتائج.
وشغل ييرماك منصب رئيس مكتب زيلينسكي منذ عام 2020، وغالباً ما وُصف بأنه أقوى شخصية في أوكرانيا بعد الرئيس.
وشغل بودانوف رئاسة مديرية الاستخبارات العسكرية الأوكرانية GUR منذ عام 2020، وخلال ولايته تحولت الوكالة من جهاز منخفض الظهور إلى أحد أبرز وأكثر أذرع الاستخبارات والجيش الأوكراني فاعلية في الحرب مع روسيا، إذ ينسب محللون له الفضل في إعادة إحياء الجهاز وتحديثه، وفق ما ذكر موقع «First Post».
من جانبه، أعلن بودانوف قبوله منصب رئيس مكتب الرئيس، قائلاً: «أواصل خدمة أوكرانيا. وأعتبر منصب رئيس مكتب الرئيس محطة جديدة من المسؤولية تجاه الوطن. إنه شرف ومسؤولية في وقت تاريخي نركز فيه على القضايا الجوهرية للأمن الاستراتيجي للدولة».
ونفذت الاستخبارات العسكرية تحت قيادة بودانوف، حملة مكثفة بالطائرات المسيّرة داخل العمق الروسي، استهدفت منشآت عسكرية ومواقع إنتاج سلاح وبنى تحتية للطاقة مثل مصافي النفط.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, as the head of the presidential office today, Friday, succeeding Andriy Yermak, who resigned after being involved in a corruption scandal.
Zelensky announced in a statement via the "X" platform that Budanov's selection comes at a time when the country needs to focus more on security issues and the development of defense and security forces, in addition to the diplomatic path of negotiations, considering that Budanov's experience in these areas will contribute to achieving tangible results.
He said: At this stage, Ukraine needs an increased focus on security and the development of defense and security forces and the diplomatic path, and the president's office will be primarily dedicated to achieving these tasks. Kyrylo has specialized experience and sufficient strength to achieve results.
Yermak has served as the head of Zelensky's office since 2020 and has often been described as the most powerful figure in Ukraine after the president.
Budanov has held the position of head of the Ukrainian military intelligence directorate (GUR) since 2020, and during his tenure, the agency transformed from a low-profile entity to one of the most prominent and effective arms of Ukrainian intelligence and the military in the war with Russia, with analysts attributing the revival and modernization of the agency to him, according to what was reported by "First Post."
For his part, Budanov announced his acceptance of the position of head of the president's office, stating: "I continue to serve Ukraine. I consider the position of head of the president's office a new station of responsibility towards the homeland. It is an honor and a responsibility at a historic time when we focus on the core issues of the state's strategic security."
Under Budanov's leadership, military intelligence has carried out an intensive campaign using drones deep within Russian territory, targeting military facilities, weapons production sites, and energy infrastructure such as oil refineries.
