أكد وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرغي لافروف، اليوم (الخميس)، أن تصريحات الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بشأن ضرورة إجراء انتخابات في أوكرانيا تثير التساؤل حول كيفية قيام الغرب بتنظيمها إذا ما جرت بالفعل.
وهاجم لافروف خلال اجتماع للجنة التعاون الدولي التابعة للمجلس العام لحزب «روسيا الموحدة» الدول الغربية قائلاً: إن أحد أبرز مظاهر الاستعمار الجديد هو التدخل في الشؤون الداخلية للدول ذات السيادة، ولم يتخلَ الغرب قط عن هذه الأساليب في أنشطته، مضيفاً: الآن، أصبح ما نملك كل الحق في تسميته «استعماراً انتخابياً جديداً تهديداً حقيقياً لأغلب الدول».
وتساءل وزير الخارجية الروسي: «كيف يمكن تنظيم هذه الانتخابات في أوكرانيا وكيف سيتدخل الغرب فيها إن جرت، فهذا شأن آخر، لكن هذا تذكير بأن الشعب قد انتخبكم بالفعل لفترة محددة، وقد حان الوقت لتكريم الشعب أو مطالبته بالتعبير عن رأيه فيكم مجدداً».
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed today (Thursday) that U.S. President Donald Trump's statements regarding the necessity of holding elections in Ukraine raise questions about how the West would organize them if they were to take place.
During a meeting of the International Cooperation Committee of the General Council of the "United Russia" party, Lavrov criticized Western countries, stating that one of the most prominent features of new colonialism is interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, and that the West has never abandoned these methods in its activities. He added, "Now, what we have every right to call 'new electoral colonialism' is a real threat to most countries."
The Russian Foreign Minister questioned: "How can these elections be organized in Ukraine and how will the West intervene in them if they occur? That is another matter, but this is a reminder that the people have already elected you for a specific term, and it is time to honor the people or ask them to express their opinion about you once again."
