شهدت جلسة محاكمة رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو توتراً لافتاً، عقب رفض هيئة المحكمة طلبه مغادرة الجلسة للقاء رئيس برلمان باراغواي، ما أدى إلى مشادة كلامية بينه وبين القضاة أثناء الإدلاء بشهادته.
ووبّخ نتنياهو القضاة بعد رفضهم إلغاء الجلسة، قائلاً إن الطلب لم يكن عبثياً، مضيفاً: «كنت مضطراً للقاء رئيس برلمان باراغواي، ولا يمكنني ذلك إلا إذا جاء إلى قاعة المحكمة». واعتبر أن عدم تمكينه من عقد اللقاء، ولو لفترة قصيرة، أمر «محرج».
وفي وقت لاحق، وصل رئيس برلمان باراغواي إلى قاعة المحكمة، حيث التقى نتنياهو داخل مقر الجلسة، في مشهد غير معتاد تزامن مع استمرار إجراءات المحاكمة.
رفض مغادرة مبكرة
بالتوازي، طلب نتنياهو مغادرة الجلسة عند الساعة 10:30 صباحاً، أي قبل ساعة من موعد انتهائها المحدد، للتحضير لاجتماع لاحق مع مبعوث الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، توم براك.
غير أن القاضية أكدت أن القرار اتُّخذ مسبقاً بعدم اختصار الجلسة، مشددة على أن المحاكمة ستستمر حتى الساعة 11:30 قبل الظهر كما هو مقرر.

Netanyahu reprimanded the judges after they refused to cancel the session, stating that the request was not frivolous, adding: "I was compelled to meet with the President of the Paraguayan Parliament, and I can only do that if he comes to the courtroom." He considered that preventing him from holding the meeting, even for a short time, was "embarrassing."
Later, the President of the Paraguayan Parliament arrived at the courtroom, where he met Netanyahu inside the session premises, in an unusual scene coinciding with the ongoing trial proceedings.
Refusal of Early Departure
In parallel, Netanyahu requested to leave the session at 10:30 AM, an hour before its scheduled end, to prepare for a later meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump's envoy, Tom Barrack.
However, the judge confirmed that the decision had been made in advance not to shorten the session, emphasizing that the trial would continue until 11:30 AM as scheduled.
