The researcher Hanaa Farag Abdel-Aty obtained her doctorate with the title "The Effect of Pilates Training on the Functional Efficiency of Obese Individuals Undergoing Surgical Treatment with Gastric Sleeve," focusing on assisting obese individuals who suffer from health issues and the accompanying problems of gastric sleeve surgery, such as sagging and various other symptoms.

After the approval of the Faculty of Physical Education Council at Alexandria University on the research topic, the Graduate Studies Department of the faculty decided to discuss the thesis. The discussion committee consisted of the following professors: Prof. Wael Mohamed Omar, Head of the Department of Biological Sciences and Sports Health at the Faculty of Physical Education; Prof. Mohamed Hani Ashour, Professor of Obesity and Laparoscopic Surgery at the Medical Research Center; Prof. Abdulrahman Mansour, Professor of Sports Injuries and Motor Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Sports Sciences; Prof. Moataz Billah Hassanein, Professor of Sports Health at the Faculty of Physical Education; and Prof. Mohamed Khamis, Professor of Sports Health at the Faculty of Physical Education – Alexandria University.

The committee congratulated the researcher on obtaining her doctorate for her distinguished thesis, the first in this field, encouraging her to invest her talent in continuing to choose research topics and studies that the community needs, wishing her success and a bright future.
