حصد مقطع فيديو قصير للرئيسين الصيني شي جين بينغ ونظيره الكوري الجنوبي لي جاي ميونغ آلاف المشاهدات خلال ساعات، وقوبل بالكثير من التعليقات التي راوحت بين السخرية والقلق.
وظهر الرئيس الصيني وهو يمنح الرئيس الكوري هاتفين من طراز «شاومي» (Xiaomi)، قبل أن يمازحه بالقول: «تحقق ما إذا كان فيه باب خلفي (Backdoor)» في إشارة إلى احتمال احتوائه على ثغرات للتجسس أو المراقبة الإلكترونية..
وفي الفيديو بدا شي جين بينغ وهو يبتسم لضيفه الكوري ويقول: «هذا لك ولزوجتك»، ليردّ عليه لي جاي ميونغ متسائلاً بنبرة حذرة: «هل الاتصال في هذا الهاتف آمن؟»، ثم أجابه الرئيس الصيني مازحاً: «يجب أن تتحقق بنفسك مما إذا كان هناك باب خلفي».
ويجيء هذا الفيديو، في وقت تتصاعد فيه الشكوك الغربية بشأن أمن الأجهزة الصينية، إذ واجهت شركات مثل «هواوي» و«شاومي» اتهامات متكررة من الولايات المتحدة والاتحاد الأوروبي بوجود «ثغرات أمنية محتملة» قد تُستخدم في أنشطة تجسس، وهي اتهامات نفتها بكين مراراً.
ورغم طرافة الموقف، إلا أنه يأتي في توقيت تصاعد التوتر بين الصين وجيرانها حول النفوذ التكنولوجي والأمني، الأمر الذي دفع البعض إلى النظر لحديث الرئيس الصيني على أنه «رسالة دبلوماسية» وليس مجرد دعابة. فيما اعتبر مراقبون أن تصريح الرئيس الصيني لم يكن مجرد نكتة، بل إشارة مزدوجة إلى الثقة والتحدي.

In the video, Xi Jinping appears to be smiling at his Korean guest and says, "This is for you and your wife," to which Lee Jae-myung cautiously replies, "Is the connection on this phone secure?" The Chinese president then humorously responds, "You should check for yourself if there’s a backdoor."
This video comes at a time when Western suspicions regarding the security of Chinese devices are rising, as companies like Huawei and Xiaomi have faced repeated accusations from the United States and the European Union of having "potential security vulnerabilities" that could be used for espionage activities, accusations that Beijing has repeatedly denied.
Despite the humorous nature of the situation, it occurs at a time of heightened tensions between China and its neighbors regarding technological and security influence, leading some to view the Chinese president's remarks as a "diplomatic message" rather than just a joke. Observers noted that the Chinese president's statement was not merely a joke, but a dual signal of confidence and challenge.
