في مؤشر خطير يعكس التصدّعات العميقة داخل المؤسسة العسكرية الإسرائيلية، كشف تقرير جديد لمركز الأبحاث والمعلومات في الكنيست أن 279 جندياً إسرائيلياً حاولوا الانتحار بين يناير 2024 ويوليو 2025، وهي زيادة حادة وغير مسبوقة عن الأعوام السابقة.
ووفق ما نقلته صحيفة «تايمز أوف إسرائيل»، فإن كل حالة انتحار مؤكدة يقابلها سبع محاولات فاشلة، ما يعكس حجم الأزمة النفسية المتفاقمة في صفوف الجيش الإسرائيلي منذ اندلاع الحرب على غزة في أكتوبر 2023.
وأشار التقرير إلى أن 78% من حالات الانتحار تعود لعسكريين في الخدمة القتالية المباشرة، وهي النسبة الأعلى منذ عام 2017. فقد راوحت في السنوات السابقة بين 42% و45% فقط، قبل أن تقفز إلى مستويات تنذر بانهيار الثقة داخل صفوف الجيش.
ويرى التقرير أن هذه الزيادة ترتبط مباشرة بتعبئة مئات آلاف جنود الاحتياط في أعقاب هجوم حركة حماس في الـ7 من أكتوبر 2023، وما تبعه من عمليات عسكرية طويلة ومكثفة خلفت صدمات نفسية حادة لدى المشاركين.
أزمة نفسية متصاعدة
استندت بيانات التقرير إلى المركز النفسي التابع للهيئة الطبية العسكرية، وعُرضت في نقاشات مغلقة داخل لجان الكنيست.
وأكدت الصحيفة أن الجيش لم يكتفِ برصد الأرقام، بل بدأ دراسة حالة «تفكك ذهني جماعي» أصابت الجنود بعد عودتهم من القتال، نتيجة الإجهاد المفرط والمشاهد الدموية المستمرة التي عاشوها في غزة.
وأوضحت المؤسسة العسكرية أن الأرقام تخص فقط من ما زالوا في الخدمة النظامية أو الاحتياطية، دون احتساب المحاربين القدامى الذين أنهوا خدمتهم.
وقالت مصادر إسرائيلية إن الأرقام الأخيرة تعكس «كارثة صامتة داخل الجيش»، مشيرة إلى أن الجنود لا يموتون فقط في المعارك، بل أيضاً في داخلهم.
في المقابل، دعا بعض أعضاء الكنيست إلى تشكيل لجنة طبية واجتماعية خاصة لمعالجة «وباء الانتحار» الذي وصفوه بأنه «الوجه الآخر للحرب المستمرة».
In a dangerous indicator reflecting the deep fractures within the Israeli military institution, a new report from the Research and Information Center in the Knesset revealed that 279 Israeli soldiers attempted suicide between January 2024 and July 2025, marking a sharp and unprecedented increase compared to previous years.
According to what was reported by the "Times of Israel," for every confirmed suicide case, there are seven failed attempts, reflecting the scale of the escalating psychological crisis within the Israeli army since the outbreak of the war on Gaza in October 2023.
The report indicated that 78% of suicide cases involve military personnel in direct combat service, the highest percentage since 2017. In previous years, this figure ranged between 42% and 45%, before jumping to levels that signal a collapse of trust within the ranks of the army.
The report sees this increase as directly linked to the mobilization of hundreds of thousands of reservists following the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and the subsequent long and intense military operations that left severe psychological trauma among the participants.
Escalating Psychological Crisis
The data in the report was based on the psychological center affiliated with the military medical authority and was presented in closed discussions within Knesset committees.
The newspaper confirmed that the army did not stop at monitoring the numbers but began studying the case of "collective mental disintegration" affecting soldiers after their return from combat, due to extreme stress and the continuous bloody scenes they experienced in Gaza.
The military institution clarified that the figures only pertain to those still in regular or reserve service, without accounting for veterans who have completed their service.
Israeli sources stated that the recent figures reflect a "silent disaster within the army," noting that soldiers are not only dying in battles but also internally.
In contrast, some Knesset members called for the establishment of a special medical and social committee to address the "suicide epidemic," which they described as "the other face of the ongoing war."
