أعلن وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي، أن بلاده لن تعود إلى المفاوضات مع الولايات المتحدة ما دامت واشنطن تقدم «مطالب غير معقولة».
وكانت طهران وواشنطن قد خاضتا 5 جولات من المفاوضات النووية غير المباشرة، قبل هجوم إسرائيلي انضمت إليه الولايات المتحدة لاحقاً على مواقع نووية إيرانية.
ونقلت وكالة «تسنيم» شبه الرسمية للأنباء، اليوم (الأربعاء)، عن عراقجي قوله: «تم تعليق المحادثات التي كانت جارية مع الولايات المتحدة، وكذلك مفاوضات نيويورك، ولم تمضِ قدماً؛ بسبب المطالب الأمريكية المبالغ فيها».
وأفاد عراقجي بأن إيران أجرت اتصالات مع المبعوث الأمريكي الخاص إلى الشرق الأوسط ستيف ويتكوف من خلال وسطاء، مؤكداً أن طهران «تلتزم على الدوام بالدبلوماسية والحلول السلمية».
وقال وزير الخارجية للصحفيين في مطار شهيد هاشمي نجاد: «بعد خمس جولات من المفاوضات، انضمت الولايات المتحدة إلى الهجوم العسكري الإسرائيلي ضد إيران، ثم في نيويورك أيضاً كانت هناك إمكانية للتوصل إلى اتفاق، إلا أن المفاوضات لم تُتوَّج بالنجاح مجدداً بسبب الطمع الأمريكي».
وأضاف أن الأمريكيين يتواصلون معنا عبر وسطاء، وموقف إيران واضح، فطهران تؤمن بالسلام والدبلوماسية، وقد أثبتنا دائماً التزامنا بالدبلوماسية والحلول السلمية، لكن هذا لا يعني التنازل عن حقوق الشعب الإيراني. وشدد على أن بلاده لن تعود إلى طاولة المفاوضات إذا لم تتخل واشنطن عن سياساتها المتغطرسة ومطالبها غير المنطقية. وقال: «إذا قبلت أن تدخل المفاوضات من منطلق المصالح المتبادلة والاحترام المتبادل، وعلى أساس المساواة، وأن يكون هدفها إيجاد حلول دبلوماسية وسلمية للمشكلات، فحينها يمكن الحديث».
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that his country will not return to negotiations with the United States as long as Washington presents "unreasonable demands."
Tehran and Washington had engaged in 5 rounds of indirect nuclear negotiations before an Israeli attack, which the United States later joined, on Iranian nuclear sites.
The semi-official news agency "Tasnim" reported today (Wednesday) that Araghchi stated: "The talks that were ongoing with the United States, as well as the negotiations in New York, have been suspended and did not progress due to exaggerated American demands."
Araghchi indicated that Iran has communicated with the U.S. special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Wittekov, through intermediaries, affirming that Tehran "is always committed to diplomacy and peaceful solutions."
The Foreign Minister told reporters at Shahid Hashemi Najad Airport: "After five rounds of negotiations, the United States joined the Israeli military attack against Iran, and then in New York, there was also a possibility of reaching an agreement, but the negotiations did not succeed again due to American greed."
He added that the Americans are communicating with us through intermediaries, and Iran's position is clear: Tehran believes in peace and diplomacy, and we have always demonstrated our commitment to diplomacy and peaceful solutions, but this does not mean conceding the rights of the Iranian people. He emphasized that his country will not return to the negotiating table if Washington does not abandon its arrogant policies and unreasonable demands. He said: "If you agree to enter negotiations from a standpoint of mutual interests and mutual respect, based on equality, and with the goal of finding diplomatic and peaceful solutions to problems, then we can talk."
