حذر الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي من أن العالم يواجه أكثر سباقات التسلح تدميراً في التاريخ، داعياً المجتمع الدولي إلى اتخاذ إجراءات فورية ضد روسيا.
وأكد زيلينسكي خلال كلمته أمام الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، اليوم (الأربعاء)، أن الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين يسعى لتوسيع الحرب إلى ما هو أبعد من أوكرانيا، مما يهدد الأمن الأوروبي.
أخطر سباق تسلح
وأوضح زيلينسكي في خطابه: «نحن نعيش الآن أخطر سباق تسلح في التاريخ، وأوكرانيا هي البداية فقط، والآن الطائرات الروسية المسيرة تحلق فوق أوروبا، والعمليات الروسية تنتشر في دول أخرى، وبوتين مصمم على مواصلة هذه الحرب وتوسيع نطاقها».
لقاء زيلينسكي وترمب
تصريحات زيلينسكي جاءت بعد يوم من لقائه مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، الذي أبدى دعماً قوياً لجهود أوكرانيا وانتقد روسيا، في تحول بارز عن مواقفه السابقة.
وأعرب ترمب أمس (الثلاثاء)، عن قناعته بأن أوكرانيا قادرة على استعادة جميع الأراضي التي احتلتها روسيا، مشيراً إلى أن الاقتصاد الروسي يعاني من «ضغوط هائلة».
تغير موقف ترمب
ويمثل موقف ترمب تغييراً جذرياً عن دعواته السابقة التي حثت كييف على تقديم تنازلات لإنهاء النزاع.
وفي تصريح لشبكة «سي إن إن»، وصف زيلينسكي هذا التغيير بـ«الخطوة الحاسمة»، معرباً عن أمله في تعزيز الدعم العسكري والاقتصادي من الولايات المتحدة وأوروبا.
وأكد زيلينسكي أن روسيا تستخدم أسلحة متطورة، مثل الصواريخ الباليستية والطائرات المسيرة، لتدمير البنية التحتية الأوكرانية، محذراً من أن هذه الأعمال تهدد استقرار أوروبا بأكملها.
مطالبات بعقوبات على موسكو
كما دعا إلى فرض عقوبات دولية أكثر صرامة على موسكو، مشدداً على أن أي تأخير في الرد سيؤدي إلى عواقب وخيمة.
وأشار إلى أن الحرب، التي بدأت في فبراير 2022، أدت إلى مقتل عشرات الآلاف وتدمير مدن بأكملها، مما يستوجب استجابة عالمية متماسكة.
وذكرت تقارير إعلامية عالمية أن زيلينسكي ناقش مع ترمب خلال لقائهما في نيويورك سبل توفير ضمانات أمنية طويلة الأمد لأوكرانيا، مع التركيز على تعزيز المساعدات العسكرية والاقتصادية.

Zelensky confirmed during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly today (Wednesday) that Russian President Vladimir Putin is seeking to expand the war beyond Ukraine, threatening European security.
The Most Dangerous Arms Race
Zelensky explained in his speech: “We are now living in the most dangerous arms race in history, and Ukraine is just the beginning. Now, Russian drones are flying over Europe, Russian operations are spreading to other countries, and Putin is determined to continue this war and expand its scope.”
Zelensky and Trump Meeting
Zelensky's statements came a day after his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, who expressed strong support for Ukraine's efforts and criticized Russia, marking a significant shift from his previous positions.
Trump expressed yesterday (Tuesday) his belief that Ukraine is capable of regaining all the territories occupied by Russia, noting that the Russian economy is suffering from “enormous pressure.”
Trump's Change of Position
Trump's stance represents a radical change from his previous calls for Kyiv to make concessions to end the conflict.
In a statement to CNN, Zelensky described this change as a “crucial step,” expressing hope for increased military and economic support from the United States and Europe.
Zelensky confirmed that Russia is using advanced weapons, such as ballistic missiles and drones, to destroy Ukrainian infrastructure, warning that these actions threaten the stability of all of Europe.
Calls for Sanctions on Moscow
He also called for stricter international sanctions on Moscow, emphasizing that any delay in response will lead to dire consequences.
He pointed out that the war, which began in February 2022, has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and the destruction of entire cities, necessitating a cohesive global response.
Global media reports indicated that Zelensky discussed with Trump during their meeting in New York ways to provide long-term security guarantees for Ukraine, focusing on enhancing military and economic aid.
