استعرض رئيس الوزراء اليمني سالم صالح بن بريك الإصلاحات التى تنفذها الحكومة والسياسات النقدية والمالية التي أسهمت في تحسين سعر صرف العملة الوطنية والحد من التضخم، مؤكداً خلال جلسة المباحثات التي عقدها مع رئيس بعثة صندوق النقد الدولي لليمن إستر بيريز رويز اليوم (الثلاثاء) أن الحكومة مستمرة في تطبيق برنامج الإصلاحات الشاملة كخيار وطني لا رجعة عنه، رغم التحديات التي فرضتها الأوضاع الاستثنائية والكارثة الإنسانية الناجمة عن حرب مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية.
وأشار إلى أهمية استمرار الدعم الفني والمالي من شركاء اليمن الدوليين وفي مقدمتهم صندوق النقد الدولي، لمساعدة الحكومة على تعزيز الاستقرار الاقتصادي والمالي، وبناء قدرات مؤسسات الدولة، والحفاظ على المكتسبات المتحققة، بما ينعكس إيجاباً على تحسين معيشة المواطنين وتخفيف معاناتهم، منوهاً بدور الأشقاء في المملكة العربية السعودية ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، إذ مثلت تدخلاتهم الاقتصادية والإنمائية والإنسانية عاملاً رئيسياً في استمرار وفاء الدولة بالتزاماتها الحتمية خلال السنوات الماضية.
وجرى خلال جلسة المباحثات استعراض مجالات التعاون القائمة بين الحكومة والصندوق، والخطط المستقبلية لدعم أولويات الحكومة وإسناد جهودها في مواصلة الإصلاحات الشاملة.
ووقفت جلسة المباحثات على آليات تكثيف التعاون الفعال لدعم خطة التعافي الاقتصادي وبرنامج الحكومة اليمنية للإصلاحات، وحشد الدعم من الشركاء الدوليين، وتسهيل الوصول الى التمويلات والقروض التنموية.
من جانبهم، أشاد مسؤولو صندوق النقد الدولي بالجهود الحكومية المبذولة في تنفيذ الإصلاحات، وأكدوا استعدادهم مواصلة الشراكة وتقديم المشورة الفنية اللازمة بما يسهم في دعم الاقتصاد اليمني وتطوير السياسات المالية والنقدية.
The Yemeni Prime Minister, Salem Saleh bin Breik, reviewed the reforms being implemented by the government and the monetary and financial policies that have contributed to improving the exchange rate of the national currency and limiting inflation. During a discussion session held with the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to Yemen, Esther Pérez Ruiz, today (Tuesday), he affirmed that the government is committed to implementing the comprehensive reform program as a national option that cannot be reversed, despite the challenges posed by the exceptional circumstances and the humanitarian disaster resulting from the Houthi militia's war.
He pointed out the importance of continued technical and financial support from Yemen's international partners, led by the International Monetary Fund, to assist the government in enhancing economic and financial stability, building the capacities of state institutions, and maintaining the achieved gains, which positively reflects on improving the living conditions of citizens and alleviating their suffering. He noted the role of brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as their economic, developmental, and humanitarian interventions have been a key factor in the state's continued fulfillment of its essential commitments over the past years.
During the discussion session, the existing areas of cooperation between the government and the Fund were reviewed, along with future plans to support the government's priorities and bolster its efforts in continuing comprehensive reforms.
The discussion session focused on mechanisms to intensify effective cooperation to support the economic recovery plan and the Yemeni government's reform program, mobilizing support from international partners, and facilitating access to developmental funding and loans.
For their part, IMF officials praised the government's efforts in implementing reforms and confirmed their readiness to continue the partnership and provide the necessary technical advice to support the Yemeni economy and develop financial and monetary policies.
