The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's firm and supportive stance on Lebanon's sovereignty and the unity and integrity of its territory, noting the continuation of intensive Egyptian communications with various active international and regional parties, aimed at ensuring Lebanon's stability, the complete Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, and reminding of the importance of international community support for Lebanese state institutions, foremost among them the army.

El-Sisi stressed during his meeting with the Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam in the city of El-Alamein, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the necessity of supporting the Lebanese army "to enable it to perform the national tasks assigned to it"

The official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency stated that President El-Sisi welcomed the Lebanese Prime Minister during his first visit to Egypt since assuming the presidency of the government, praising the positive steps taken by the Lebanese government in recent months to restore the regularity of state institutions and assert its authority over all Lebanese territory.

During the meeting, El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's full support for the Lebanese state's efforts to restore stability, embark on the path of economic recovery, and reconstruction, emphasizing in this regard the necessity for the Lebanese state to continue all necessary efforts to ensure that Lebanon's stability, internal safety, and national unity are not compromised.

For his part, the Lebanese Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to President El-Sisi for the significant support Egypt provides to Lebanon, which reflects the depth of historical ties between the two countries and peoples. He also outlined his government's priorities for the upcoming phase, foremost among them enhancing cooperation and integration with Arab countries, led by Egypt, pointing to ongoing efforts to hold the tenth session of the joint higher committee between Egypt and Lebanon, scheduled to take place in Cairo later this year.

The official spokesperson added that the meeting also addressed updates on several regional files, where it was confirmed that Egypt and Lebanon share a unified stance regarding the developments in the Gaza Strip. The meeting also witnessed an agreement on the importance of intensifying joint efforts to find political and peaceful solutions to the crises facing some countries in the region.

Both sides affirmed the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of those countries and the unity of their territories. At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to continue consultations and coordination between Egypt and Lebanon, in a manner that serves mutual interests and enhances regional security and stability.
