دعا زعيم حزب «أزرق أبيض» وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي السابق بيني غانتس، اليوم (السبت)، إلى إسقاط حكومة نتنياهو، وتشكيل حكومة جديدة تعمل على إطلاق سراح الرهائن وتمرير قانون التجنيد، مشدداً على ضرورة أن تضم الحكومة الجديدة زعماء المعارضة يائير لابيد وأفيغدور ليبرمان، واستبعاد المتطرفين، وفي مقدمتهم وزير الأمن القومي إيتمار بن غفير، ووزير المالية اليميني المتطرف بتسلئيل سموتريتش.
وقال غانتس في مؤتمر صحفي: «لا تراجع عن ملاحقة حركة حماس، لكن الإفراج عن الرهائن يجب أن يكون أولاً».
ورد وزير الأمن القومي الإسرائيلي، إيتمار بن غفير، على بيني غانتس، بالقول: «الناخبون اختاروا سياسة اليمين وليس سياسة غانتس»، مشدداً على أن الحكومة لن تعقد صفقات استسلام مع حركة حماس.
وفي غضون ذلك، أقر جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، اليوم، بمقتل ضابط برتبة ملازم في انفجار عبوة ناسفة خلال حادث عملياتي في قطاع غزة، مؤكداً ارتفاع عدد قتلاه منذ بداية الحرب في 7 أكتوبر 2023 إلى 899 ضابطاً وجندياً، بينهم 455 سقطوا خلال العملية البرية في قطاع غزة.
من جهة أخرى، نقلت هيئة البث الإسرائيلية عن مصدر أمني قوله إن احتلال مدينة غزة سيبدأ بعد الانتهاء من تطويقها، وهو ما سيستمر نحو شهرين، مبيناً أن رئيس الأركان يريد أن يكون احتلال غزة بطيئاً حفاظاً على حياة الجنود وتجنباً للمسّ بالرهائن.
وأشار إلى أن جيش الاحتلال سيبدأ في الأيام القادمة العمل على إجلاء الفلسطينيين من مدينة غزة، فيما قال شهود عيان إنهم شاهدوا جنوداً إسرائيليين في حي الصبرة بمدينة غزة، وكانوا يتمركزون بالقرب من مبنى كان يضم مدرسة.
وكانت إذاعة جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي قد قالت، اليوم، إن فرقاً محلية من غزة وأخرى من منظمات دولية باشرت أعمال ترميم وإعادة تشغيل المستشفى الأوروبي في شرق خان يونس، حيث قُتل محمد السنوار في مايو الماضي.
وبحسب الخطة الهادفة لإخلاء السكان من مدينة غزة، التي صادق عليها رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، فإنه سيُعاد تشغيل المستشفى الأوروبي في خان يونس ليحلّ محل المستشفيات التي سيتم إخلاؤها من مدينة غزة، مثل مستشفى الشفاء والمستشفى المعمداني.
في المقابل، دان المكتب الإعلامي الحكومي في قطاع غزة مخططات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي لتدمير وطرد المنظومة الصحية من القطاع في إطار خطته المعلنة لاحتلال المدينة، موضحاً أن المستشفى الأوروبي لا يمكن أن يكون بديلاً عن مستشفيات الشمال، وفق ما يخطط له الاحتلال.
The leader of the "Blue and White" party, former Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz, called today (Saturday) for the overthrow of Netanyahu's government and the formation of a new government that would work to release the hostages and pass the conscription law, emphasizing the necessity of including opposition leaders Yair Lapid and Avigdor Lieberman in the new government while excluding extremists, foremost among them National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
Gantz stated at a press conference: "There is no retreat from pursuing Hamas, but the release of the hostages must come first."
In response, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said to Benny Gantz: "Voters chose right-wing policy, not Gantz's policy," stressing that the government would not make surrender deals with Hamas.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army acknowledged today the death of a lieutenant in an explosion during an operational incident in the Gaza Strip, confirming that the number of its casualties since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, has risen to 899 officers and soldiers, including 455 who fell during the ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
On another note, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that a security source stated that the occupation of Gaza City would begin after it is completely surrounded, which is expected to take about two months, indicating that the Chief of Staff wants the occupation of Gaza to be slow to protect the lives of soldiers and avoid harming the hostages.
He noted that the occupation army would begin in the coming days to work on evacuating Palestinians from Gaza City, while eyewitnesses reported seeing Israeli soldiers in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, stationed near a building that housed a school.
The Israeli army radio stated today that local teams from Gaza and others from international organizations have begun renovation and reactivation works at the European Hospital in eastern Khan Younis, where Muhammad al-Sinwar was killed last May.
According to the plan aimed at evacuating residents from Gaza City, which was approved by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the European Hospital in Khan Younis will be reactivated to replace the hospitals that will be evacuated from Gaza City, such as Al-Shifa Hospital and the Baptist Hospital.
In contrast, the government media office in Gaza condemned the Israeli occupation's plans to destroy and expel the health system from the sector as part of its announced plan to occupy the city, clarifying that the European Hospital cannot serve as a substitute for the northern hospitals, according to the occupation's plans.
