أوقف الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، اجتماعا داخل البيت الأبيض في ساعة متأخرة من (الإثنين) مع الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي وقادة أوروبيين آخرين للتحدث مع الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، وفقًا لعدة مصادر لصحيفة «بيلد» الألمانية.
ونشر البيت الأبيض، (الإثنين)، صورة لترمب، وهو يتحدث عبر مكبر الصوت مع بوتين داخل المكتب البيضاوي. ويظهر في الصورة أيضا وزير الخارجية الأمريكي، ماركو روبيو، ونائب الرئيس جيه دي فانس، وهما يجلسان على كرسيين مقابل مكتب «ريزوليوت».
وعلق الكرملين على المكالمة بالقول إن بوتين وترمب أجريا محادثة هاتفية استمرت نحو 40 دقيقة، مضيفًا أن المحادثة «كانت صريحة وبناءة للغاية».
وتابع: «أبلغ ترمب بوتين بالمفاوضات مع زيلينسكي وقادة الدول الأوروبية؛ وعبر الرئيسان عن تأييدهما لاستمرار المفاوضات المباشرة بين وفدي روسيا وأوكرانيا».
وكشف الكرملين: «ناقش بوتين وترامب فكرة رفع مستوى المفاوضات الروسية الأوكرانية المباشرة؛ واتفق الرئيسان على مواصلة الاتصال الوثيق ببعضهما البعض بشأن الأزمة الأوكرانية ومواضيع أخرى ملحة».
ووفقاً لشبكة CNN، قال مسؤولان في البيت الأبيض إن مترجمًا كان يكتب أيضًا على دفتر ملاحظات مقابل ترمب على المكتب.
وأفادت ألينا ترين، «مراسلة CNN، سابقا» بأن ترمب تحدث مع بوتين هاتفيًا في المكتب البيضاوي، ثم استأنف اجتماعاته مع الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي وقادة أوروبيين من هناك، وفقا لمسؤول آخر في البيت الأبيض.
وقال وزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو إن إدارة ترمب تعمل على ترتيب لقاء «غير مسبوق» بين الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي والرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين.
وأضاف أنه إذا سارت الأمور بشكل جيد، فإنه يُأمل أن يتبعه لقاء بين الرئيس دونالد ترمب وبوتين وزيلينسكي.
وقال روبيو، (الإثنين)، على قناة «فوكس نيوز»: «لم نصل إلى هذه المرحلة بعد، ولكن هذا ما نهدف إليه، وهو أحد الأمور التي ناقشناها، وهو كيفية الوصول إلى هذه النقطة».
وأضاف: «مجرد حقيقة إن بوتين يقول: (بالتأكيد، سألتقي بزيلينسكي) أمرٌ بالغ الأهمية. أعني، أنا لا أقول إنهم سيغادرون تلك الغرفة كأصدقاء مقربين. أنا لا أقول إنهم سيغادرون تلك الغرفة باتفاق سلام، لكنني أعتقد أن حقيقة أن الناس يتحدثون الآن مع بعضهم البعض، لم تكن تحدث منذ ثلاث سنوات ونصف السنة».
U.S. President Donald Trump interrupted a late-night meeting at the White House on (Monday) with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to several sources for the German newspaper "Bild."
The White House released a photo on (Monday) of Trump speaking via speakerphone with Putin in the Oval Office. The photo also shows U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance sitting in chairs across from the Resolute Desk.
The Kremlin commented on the call, stating that Putin and Trump had a phone conversation lasting about 40 minutes, adding that the conversation "was very frank and constructive."
It continued: "Trump informed Putin about the negotiations with Zelensky and the leaders of European countries; both presidents expressed their support for continuing direct negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations."
The Kremlin revealed: "Putin and Trump discussed the idea of elevating the level of direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations; the two presidents agreed to maintain close contact with each other regarding the Ukrainian crisis and other pressing issues."
According to CNN, two White House officials said that a translator was also taking notes across from Trump at the desk.
Alina Trina, "formerly a CNN correspondent," reported that Trump spoke with Putin by phone in the Oval Office and then resumed his meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders from there, according to another White House official.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the Trump administration is working to arrange an "unprecedented" meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He added that if things go well, it is hoped that it will be followed by a meeting between President Donald Trump, Putin, and Zelensky.
Rubio said on (Monday) on Fox News: "We haven't reached that stage yet, but that's what we're aiming for, and it's one of the things we've discussed, which is how to get to that point."
He added: "The mere fact that Putin says, 'Sure, I'll meet with Zelensky' is extremely significant. I mean, I'm not saying they're going to leave that room as close friends. I'm not saying they're going to leave that room with a peace agreement, but I think the fact that people are talking to each other now, that hasn't happened in three and a half years."
