نفذت السلطات التركية، اليوم (الجمعة)، حملة أمنية واسعة النطاق في إسطنبول، أسفرت عن اعتقال 40 شخصاً، من بينهم رئيس بلدية منطقة بي أوغلو إينان غوني، ضمن تحقيقات موسعة حول قضايا فساد مرتبطة بشركات تابعة لبلدية إسطنبول الكبرى.
ووفقاً لوكالة الأناضول الحكومية ووسائل إعلام أخرى، تم إصدار أوامر توقيف بحق 44 شخصاً، حيث تم اعتقال 40 منهم حتى الآن، بينما لا يزال 4 مشتبه بهم فارين، ويُزعم أن الموقوفين، بما في ذلك غوني، متورطون في أنشطة احتيالية تتعلق بشركات مثل «ميديا أ.ش» و«كولتور أ.ش» التابعتين لبلدية إسطنبول، مع اتهامات تشمل تشكيل منظمة إجرامية، الرشوة، الاحتيال الجسيم، والحصول على بيانات شخصية بطرق غير قانونية.
تأتي هذه العملية كجزء من سلسلة تحقيقات مستمرة تستهدف بلدية إسطنبول الكبرى التي يسيطر عليها حزب الشعب الجمهوري المعارض، ومن بين الموقوفين مستشارون مقربون من رئيس بلدية إسطنبول السابق إكرم إمام أوغلو، الذي يواجه بدوره اتهامات بالفساد و«صلات بالإرهاب»، وهو محتجز حالياً منذ مارس 2025.
وتشهد تركيا منذ أواخر عام 2024 موجة من التحقيقات والاعتقالات التي تستهدف مسؤولي بلديات ينتمون إلى حزب الشعب الجمهوري، الذي حقق انتصارات بارزة في الانتخابات المحلية لعام 2019 و2024، خصوصاً في إسطنبول، حيث انتزع إكرم إمام أوغلو، أحد أبرز منافسي الرئيس رجب طيب أردوغان، منصب رئيس بلدية المدينة.
ويُعتبر إمام أوغلو مرشحاً محتملاً للرئاسة، ما يجعل هذه التحقيقات مثار جدل سياسي، وبحسب تقارير، فإن أكثر من 500 شخص، بما في ذلك 16 رئيس بلدية، تم توقيفهم خلال أقل من عام في إطار هذه الحملة.
وتُعد منطقة بي أوغلو رمزية سياسياً، حيث تضم ميدان تقسيم، وهو مركز تاريخي للتظاهرات السياسية في تركيا، بما في ذلك احتجاجات جيزي بارك عام 2013، حيث استعاد حزب الشعب الجمهوري السيطرة على المنطقة في انتخابات 2019 بعد عقود من هيمنة حزب العدالة والتنمية الحاكم.
ويتهم الحزب المعارض الحكومة باستخدام القضاء للضغط على رؤساء البلديات ودفعهم للانضمام إلى حزب العدالة والتنمية، كما حدث مع رئيسة بلدية أيدين أوزليم تشيرجي أوغلو، التي انتقلت إلى الحزب الحاكم الخميس، 14 أغسطس 2025، وسط مزاعم بالضغوط، وهو ما نفته هي ومسؤولو الحزب الحاكم.
وتشير بعض التقارير إلى أن التحقيقات تركز على اتهامات بتلاعب في مناقصات عامة وفساد مالي في شركات بلدية إسطنبول، مع أدلة مزعومة تشمل شهادات من رجل أعمال محتجز، مراد كابكي، رغم وجود شكوك حول مصداقية هذه الشهادات بعد اتهامات بتقديمها تحت الضغط.
The Turkish authorities carried out a large-scale security operation in Istanbul today (Friday), resulting in the arrest of 40 individuals, including the mayor of the Beyoğlu district, İnan Günü, as part of extensive investigations into corruption cases linked to companies affiliated with the Greater Istanbul Municipality.
According to the state-run Anadolu Agency and other media outlets, arrest warrants were issued for 44 individuals, with 40 of them arrested so far, while 4 suspects remain at large. The detainees, including Günü, are alleged to be involved in fraudulent activities related to companies such as "Mediya A.Ş." and "Kültür A.Ş." affiliated with the Istanbul Municipality, with accusations including forming a criminal organization, bribery, serious fraud, and obtaining personal data through illegal means.
This operation comes as part of a series of ongoing investigations targeting the Greater Istanbul Municipality, which is controlled by the opposition Republican People's Party. Among those detained are advisors close to former Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who himself faces allegations of corruption and "links to terrorism" and has been in custody since March 2025.
Turkey has witnessed a wave of investigations and arrests since late 2024 targeting municipal officials belonging to the Republican People's Party, which achieved significant victories in the local elections of 2019 and 2024, particularly in Istanbul, where Ekrem İmamoğlu, one of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's most prominent rivals, took the position of mayor of the city.
İmamoğlu is considered a potential presidential candidate, making these investigations a subject of political controversy. According to reports, over 500 individuals, including 16 mayors, have been detained in less than a year as part of this campaign.
The Beyoğlu district is politically symbolic, as it includes Taksim Square, a historic center for political demonstrations in Turkey, including the Gezi Park protests of 2013. The Republican People's Party regained control of the area in the 2019 elections after decades of dominance by the ruling Justice and Development Party.
The opposition party accuses the government of using the judiciary to pressure mayors and push them to join the Justice and Development Party, as happened with Aydın Mayor Özlem Çerçi Oğlu, who switched to the ruling party on Thursday, August 14, 2025, amid allegations of pressure, which she and officials from the ruling party denied.
Some reports indicate that the investigations focus on allegations of manipulation in public tenders and financial corruption in Istanbul Municipality companies, with alleged evidence including testimonies from detained businessman Murat Kapki, although there are doubts about the credibility of these testimonies following accusations of them being given under duress.
