Amid the rising global movement following the two-state solution conference chaired by Saudi Arabia and France and hosted by the United Nations in New York, more than ten members of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives called on U.S. President Donald Trump to recognize the State of Palestine. The news site "Axios" announced today (Monday) that one of the representatives intends to introduce a resolution supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Last Wednesday, 15 Western countries, including France, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Portugal, issued a collective call for the recognition of the State of Palestine and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in a statement published by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its website.

The "Two-State Solution Conference," held in New York on Monday and Tuesday, chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, and attended by high-level participants, discussed ways to implement the two-state solution on the ground within a specific timeline and support the international recognition of the Palestinian state.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced at a press conference last Tuesday that his country would recognize the State of Palestine next September "if Israel does not take substantive steps to end the horrific situation" in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron revealed on July 24 that his country would recognize the State of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly in New York next September.

On May 28, 2024, Spain, Norway, and Ireland announced their recognition of the State of Palestine, followed by Slovenia on June 5 of the same year, bringing the total number of countries recognizing Palestine to 149 out of 193 member states of the United Nations General Assembly.
