رحّبت الحكومة الأردنية اليوم بإعلان رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر عزم المملكة المتحدة الاعتراف رسميًّا بالدولة الفلسطينية.
وعدّ المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الخارجية الأردنية السفير سفيان القضاة، قرار رئيس الوزراء البريطاني خطوة مهمة للتصدّي لمساعي إنكار حق الشعب الفلسطيني غير القابل للتصرف في تقرير المصير وتجسيد دولتهم المستقلة وذات السيادة على ترابهم الوطني.
وأكّد السفير القضاة أن هذا الإعلان ينسجم مع الجهود الدولية الهادفة إلى الاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية ذات السيادة على خطوط الرابع من يونيو لعام 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية، على أساس حل الدولتين، وفقًا لقرارات الشرعية الدولية ومبادرة السلام العربية.
وشدّد على أهمية المؤتمر الدولي رفيع المستوى من أجل التسوية السلمية للقضية الفلسطينية وتنفيذ حل الدولتين الذي يُعقَد في نيويورك برئاسة مشتركة بين المملكة العربية السعودية والجمهورية الفرنسية، لحشد دعم دولي لمزيد من الاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية على أساس حل الدولتين، باعتباره سبيلًا وحيدًا لتحقيق السلام العادل والشامل الذي يضمن الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.
The Jordanian government welcomed today the announcement by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer regarding the United Kingdom's intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine.
The official spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sufyan al-Qudah, considered the British Prime Minister's decision an important step in countering efforts to deny the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to realize their independent and sovereign state on their national soil.
Ambassador al-Qudah affirmed that this announcement aligns with international efforts aimed at recognizing a sovereign Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He emphasized the importance of the high-level international conference for the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, which will be held in New York co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic, to rally international support for further recognition of the State of Palestine based on the two-state solution, as the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
