The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Aty, praised the Saudi-French role, emphasizing that it has moved the stagnation regarding the implementation of the two-state solution. He confirmed in statements today (Wednesday), on the sidelines of his participation in the "Two-State Solution" conference held in New York under the auspices of the United Nations, that "Israel will not enjoy security except through the two-state solution." The Egyptian Foreign Minister accused Israel of using food as a weapon, describing the famine in Gaza as "beyond imagination." Abdel Aty revealed that Egypt is exerting all its efforts to ensure the success of the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, announcing that Cairo is in daily contact with Washington and Doha. He stated that Egypt has a clear plan for security arrangements and governance in the Gaza Strip after the war ends. Abdel Aty pointed out that Egypt is training hundreds of Palestinians to take on security tasks in Gaza.

Participants in the Two-State Solution conference agreed on the necessity of ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the two-state solution, stressing the importance of recognizing the State of Palestine and granting it full membership in the United Nations. The participants added: "We are committed to taking specific time-bound steps to implement the two-state solution," indicating that the timeframe to achieve a Palestinian state is 15 months.

The statement indicated that it is impossible to achieve normal relations and peaceful coexistence among the peoples and countries of the region without ending the war in Gaza, releasing all hostages, ending the occupation, renouncing violence and terrorism, establishing an independent, sovereign, and democratic Palestinian state, ending the occupation of all Arab lands, and providing strong security guarantees for Israel and Palestine.

It emphasized that war, occupation, and displacement cannot achieve peace, adding that the two-state solution is the way to meet the aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians, highlighting the necessity of establishing an independent Palestinian state that lives peacefully alongside Israel.

The conference participants called on all parties to refrain from unilateral actions that hinder peace efforts and lead to escalating tensions on the ground, stressing the importance of resuming serious and direct negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis within a specific timeframe, with the aim of reaching a permanent and comprehensive agreement. They expressed their full support for regional and international initiatives aimed at facilitating this process, including the role of the Quartet and concerned international partners.

The statement urged the international community to intensify efforts to create favorable conditions for achieving peace, including providing economic and institutional support to the Palestinians and improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
