The Sudanese Founding Alliance, known as "Tasees," announced today (Saturday) the formation of a presidential council for a transitional government headed by the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo "Hemedti," deciding to appoint Mohamed Al-Taiashi as the head of the transitional government.
Arab media reported that the alliance, led by the commander of the Rapid Support Forces "Hemedti," decided to form a parallel government, a move that the army strongly opposed and could push the country towards further division amid the ongoing war that has lasted for two years.
It was noted that the alliance appointed Mohamed Hassan Al-Taiashi as the Prime Minister of this government, and during a meeting in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, it was decided to appoint Abdelaziz Adam Al-Hilu, the head of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement, as the Deputy Chairman of the presidential council.
This alliance was formed in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, last February, and includes elements from the Rapid Support Forces, armed movements, political parties, and civil forces, including the "Sudan People's Liberation Movement" led by Abdelaziz Al-Hilu and two armed movements led by former Sovereignty Council members Al-Hadi Idris and Al-Tahir Hajar.
The alliance announced during a meeting in the Kenyan capital Nairobi last March the adoption of a new constitution that includes supra-constitutional principles and stipulates the secular nature of the state.
Sudanese observers warned of the dangers of this formation, which they see as an early indicator of "separatist intentions" and the continuation of the war between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese army, which erupted more than two years ago and has caused a crisis considered one of the largest humanitarian crises in the world, especially as it has led to the displacement of more than 12 million Sudanese both inside and outside the country, with nearly half of the population on the brink of famine.
