As the Iraqi parliamentary elections scheduled for November 11 of this year approach, the war of files has intensified, reaching major issues that were the cause of Iraq's destruction. The incident of the "Higher Market" fire in Al-Kut, which claimed dozens of lives, led to rising voices from the "State of Law" coalition, led by Nouri al-Maliki, demanding accountability for the top executive responsible, referring to the current Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani. This prompted the leader of an armed group, Shibl al-Zaydi, to call in a tweet on the platform (X) for holding Nouri al-Maliki accountable for the "Spiker" crime and the control of the terrorist organization ISIS over the city of Mosul, as well as many of the fabricated fires during his tenure as prime minister.
However, the matter did not stop there, as some platforms supporting al-Sudani's government began to showcase other events that occurred during al-Maliki's time, including the escape of hundreds of detainees belonging to al-Qaeda and ISIS from the Taji and Abu Ghraib prisons in 2013, who significantly contributed to the fall of Mosul in 2014.
Some parties have recognized the danger of this conflict, which could topple everyone and end their influence in the political process. Therefore, the incident of an unknown drone targeting oil facilities and energy sources in Kurdistan was exploited to promote the idea that not only armed groups possess drones, but that other Iraqi parties also have drones. It is not unlikely (according to media personnel and bloggers from the coordinating framework) that these parties are behind the recent attacks for reasons unknown to us, in an attempt to export the crisis.
The next step in this media escalation among Iraqi political forces came from some journalists and program presenters affiliated with the "coordinating framework" alliance. One of them mentioned that weapons have been entering the western provinces for months without the state's knowledge, referring to Al-Anbar province in western Iraq, and this narrative was echoed by several presenters during their programs.
Concurrently, unofficial platforms and channels linked to armed groups began to claim that two women from Mosul attempted to set fire to a commercial center in Baghdad and were arrested, publishing a photo of them with features and attire unrelated to Mosul or the general Nineveh province, in an attempt to once again involve Mosul in the terrorism scenario.
However, a security source denied the accuracy of the circulating news regarding the attempt by two women to ignite a fire inside a commercial center in the Zayouna area, confirming that two beggars were spotted by the mall management after attempting to steal.
These accusations directed against the western provinces are merely a prelude to an attempt to demonize them and accuse them of terrorism in order to divert attention from the reality of the conflict within the coordinating framework alliance and to obscure the truths that have begun to emerge regarding Nouri al-Maliki's involvement in the events that occurred during his term.
All these indicators confirm that there is a forthcoming scenario being prepared for these areas by armed groups, which see in the ongoing political conflicts and increasing American pressures the necessity to disarm those groups and end the external interventions of regional parties. They may be the biggest losers, and thus, there must be a way out for them from this crisis, even if it requires fabricating a conflict among the different parties.
