استجوبت السلطات البلجيكية اليوم (الإثنين)، جنديين إسرائيليين يشتبه تورطهما في جرائم حرب بحق الفلسطينيين في قطاع غزة، بحسب مؤسسة «هند رجب» الحقوقية، وذلك بعد ساعات من إعلان الخارجية الإسرائيلية احتجاز إسرائيلي وجندي في الجيش للتحقيق معهما في بلجيكا أمس.
وقالت مؤسسة «هند رجب» الحقوقية في بيان: «في ما قد يُمثل نقطة تحول في السعي العالمي نحو المساءلة، اعتقلت الشرطة الفيدرالية البلجيكية جنديين إسرائيليين واستجوبتهما، وهما متهمان بشكل موثوق بارتكاب جرائم حرب في غزة»، مضيفة: «هذا الإجراء جاء استجابة لشكوى قانونية عاجلة قدمتها مؤسسة هند رجب وشبكة الإجراءات القانونية العالمية (جلان) في وقت سابق من الأسبوع الحالي».
وأشارت المؤسسة إلى أنه تم التعرف على المشتبه بهما واعتقالهما في مهرجان (تومورولاند) الموسيقي الإلكتروني الأكبر في العالم بمدينة بوم التابعة لمقاطعة أنتويرب، مبينة أنه بعد احتجازهما، تم استجوابهما رسمياً وإطلاق سراحهما.
وأشارت إلى أن مكتب المدعي العام الفيدرالي البلجيكي أكد أنه يتم حالياً إجراء تحقيق جنائي، مطالبة السلطات البلجيكية بمواصلة التحقيق بشكل كامل ومستقل، وأن لا تتوقف العدالة عند هذا الحد.
وتعهدت المؤسسة بمتابعة القضية حتى النهاية، واصفة هذه الخطوة بالمهمة، خصوصاً أن بلجيكا اعترفت بولايتها القضائية بموجب القانون الدولي، وتتعامل مع الادعاءات بالجدية التي تستحقها، بينما تلتزم حكومات كثيرة الصمت.
وذكرت أن الإجراء البلجيكي يرسل رسالة واضحة مفادها: «يجب مقابلة الأدلة الموثوقة على الجرائم الدولية بردٍّ قانوني، لا بلامبالاة سياسية».
Belgian authorities interrogated two Israeli soldiers today (Monday) suspected of involvement in war crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, according to the "Hind Rjab" rights organization, just hours after the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced the detention of an Israeli and a soldier from the army for questioning in Belgium yesterday.
The "Hind Rjab" rights organization stated in a statement: "In what may represent a turning point in the global pursuit of accountability, the Belgian federal police arrested and interrogated two Israeli soldiers, who are reliably accused of committing war crimes in Gaza," adding: "This action came in response to an urgent legal complaint filed by the Hind Rjab organization and the Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) earlier this week."
The organization noted that the suspects were identified and arrested at the world's largest electronic music festival, Tomorrowland, in the town of Boom in Antwerp province, indicating that after their detention, they were formally interrogated and then released.
It pointed out that the Belgian federal prosecutor's office confirmed that a criminal investigation is currently underway, urging Belgian authorities to continue the investigation fully and independently, and that justice should not stop at this point.
The organization pledged to follow the case to the end, describing this step as significant, especially since Belgium has recognized its jurisdiction under international law and is treating the allegations with the seriousness they deserve, while many governments remain silent.
It mentioned that the Belgian action sends a clear message: "Reliable evidence of international crimes must be met with a legal response, not political indifference."
