مصر تحبط مخططاً إرهابياً لحركة «حسم» الإخوانية

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced the killing of terrorist elements affiliated with the "Hasm" group of the Muslim Brotherhood during their attempt to carry out sabotage operations. The ministry stated in a statement today (Sunday) that it received information indicating that the leaders of the "Hasm" movement, the armed wing of the Brotherhood that is based in Turkey, were preparing and planning to revive their activities and commit hostile operations targeting security and economic facilities. It added that the group had sent one of its fugitive members from a neighboring country, who had previously received advanced military training, to infiltrate the country illegally to execute the plan, coinciding with the movement preparing a video circulated on social media that includes training for its members in a desert area of one of the neighboring countries, threatening to carry out terrorist operations in the country.

The Ministry of Interior mentioned that the National Security Sector, in coordination with security agencies, was able to identify the leaders of the "Hasm" movement involved in the plan, namely: Yahya El-Sayed Ibrahim Mohamed Moussa, one of the prominent founders of the group overseeing its armed and military structure, who is sentenced to death in the case of the assassination of the Attorney General, life imprisonment for attempting to target important figures, life imprisonment for attempting to target the presidential plane, and the assassination of police officer Magid Abdel Razek.

According to the ministry's statement, the second suspect is: Mohamed Rafiq Ibrahim Manna, sentenced to life imprisonment in case number 64 of 2017 military felonies in North Cairo. The third suspect is: Alaa Ali Ali El-Samahy, sentenced in several cases, and Mohamed Abdel Hafiz Abdullah Abdel Hafiz, sentenced in several cases, including life imprisonment in case number 64 of 2016 military felonies in North Cairo, and Ali Mahmoud Mohamed Abdel Wanes, sentenced in several cases and life imprisonment in case number 120 of 2022.

It reported that one of the movement's elements, named Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Razek Ahmed Ghoneim, who is sentenced to death in the case of targeting a group of regular guards in Sharqia Governorate, was monitored infiltrating into the country.

It added that his infiltration into the country was tracked illegally through desert paths, and he took one of the apartments in the Boulaq Dakrour area as a hideout in preparation for executing the terrorist plan, in collaboration with movement member Ihab Abdel Latif Mohamed Abdel Qader, who is wanted for attempting to target important figures.

According to the statement, the involved parties were targeted after obtaining permission from the Supreme State Security Prosecution, and the hideout of the terrorists was raided, during which they opened fire randomly towards the forces and the surrounding area of the property, prompting the forces to respond. It stated that the exchange of fire resulted in the death of the terrorists, and the death of a citizen who happened to be passing by the incident location, affected by injuries due to the random gunfire from the terrorist elements, and the injury of an officer from the force while attempting to rescue the citizen.

The "Hasm" movement threatened to launch violent operations against Egypt in the coming period.

It announced in a video it broadcast a few days ago on the "Telegram" platform, titled "This is the Path," its intention to carry out violent operations in Egypt and to resume its armed operations targeting facilities and prisons.
