كشفت لجنة التحقيق العسكرية، التي شكلها رئيس الوزراء العراقي محمد شياع السوداني بشأن تدمير أكثر من رادار عسكري بفعل طائرات مسيرة، بشكل أولي أن هذه الطائرات جرى تحريكها من داخل الأراضي العراقية.
وأكد مسؤول أمني كبير لـ «عكاظ» أن التحقيقات اقتربت من الوصول إلى معرفة الجهة المنفذة دون الإفصاح عن مزيد من التفاصيل، وذلك بعد أن طالت الهجمات، يوم (الثلاثاء)، قواعد عسكرية في وسط وجنوبي البلاد التي تسببت في تدمير أكثر من رادار عسكري بعضها اشتراه العراق أخيراً ضمن صفقة مع دولة أوروبية بأكثر من 100 مليون يورو.
وكان العراق قد أعلن، أمس، أنه تعرّض لاعتداء بالطائرات الانتحارية المسيرة الصغيرة أدى إلى إحداث أضرار كبيرة بمنظومتي الرادار في معسكر التاجي شمال بغداد، وقاعدة الإمام علي في محافظة ذي قار دون وقوع أية ضحايا بشرية.
واستهدف الهجوم راداراً جديداً من طراز (TPS-77) من إنتاج شركة «لوكهيد مارتن» الأمريكية العملاقة، ولم يكن قد دخل الخدمة بعد، ويفترض أن العراق يمتلك رادارين آخرين من هذا الطراز يغطيان أجزاءً محدودة من سماء البلاد بفاعلية.
ويُعد رادار (TPS-77) مثاليّاً للحدود والمواقع المتقدمة نظراً لقابليته للنقل ويتميز بقدرته على مسح وتغطية مساحات شاسعة، وكشف وتتبع الطائرات المسيّرة وصواريخ كروز.
وأفادت معلومات عسكرية أن رادارات أخرى استهدفت، وهي صناعة فرنسية اشتراها العراق أخيراً.
وكانت قيادة الدفاع الجوي قد أعلنت في سبتمبر 2023 تشغيل أول رادار فرنسي متطور في العراق من طراز GM400.
واعترفت الحكومة العراقية أنها فشلت في التصدي لجميع الطائرات المسيرة، وأنها أفشلت بعض الهجمات الأخرى، التي استهدفت مواقع عسكرية تابعة للقوات الأمنية العراقية بشكل كامل مع أن المسؤولين عنها ومن يقوم بإدارتها ضباط ومنتسبون من التشكيلات الأمنية العراقية.
The military investigation committee, formed by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani regarding the destruction of more than one military radar by drones, has preliminarily revealed that these drones were operated from within Iraqi territory.
A senior security official confirmed to "Okaz" that the investigations are close to identifying the executing party without disclosing further details, following attacks on Tuesday that targeted military bases in central and southern Iraq, which resulted in the destruction of more than one military radar, some of which Iraq had recently purchased as part of a deal with a European country for over 100 million euros.
Iraq announced yesterday that it had been subjected to an attack by small suicide drones that caused significant damage to the radar systems at the Taji camp north of Baghdad and the Imam Ali base in Dhi Qar province, without any human casualties.
The attack targeted a new radar of the TPS-77 model produced by the American giant Lockheed Martin, which had not yet entered service, and Iraq is supposed to possess two other radars of this model that effectively cover limited parts of the country's airspace.
The TPS-77 radar is ideal for borders and forward positions due to its portability and is characterized by its ability to scan and cover vast areas, as well as detect and track drones and cruise missiles.
Military information indicated that other radars were targeted, which are of French manufacture that Iraq had recently purchased.
The Air Defense Command announced in September 2023 the operation of the first advanced French radar in Iraq, the GM400 model.
The Iraqi government admitted that it had failed to counter all the drones and that it had thwarted some other attacks that targeted military sites belonging to the Iraqi security forces entirely, even though those responsible for them and managing them are officers and personnel from the Iraqi security formations.
