وكشفت الصور نشاطاً وُصف بغير العادي لـ16 شاحنة كبيرة بالقرب من مدخل تحت الأرض لمنشأة فوردو الإيرانية لتخصيب اليورانيوم قبل نحو يومين من الضربة الأميركية على المنشآت النووية الإيرانية، وفقاً لما أكده محلل في شركة الأقمار الصناعية «ماكسار» لصحيفة «واشنطن بوست» الأميركية.
وفي اليوم التالي، أظهرت صور جديدة أن غالبية الشاحنات تحركت بنحو كيلومتر واحد إلى الشمال الغربي، مبتعدة عن المنشأة.
كما كشفت الصور وجود شاحنات وجرافات أخرى متمركزة قرب مدخل الموقع، بما في ذلك شاحنة واحدة كانت متوقفة مباشرة عند المدخل، ما يثير تساؤلات حول طبيعة الأنشطة التي كانت تجري قبيل الضربة.
وتعزز صور الأقمار الصناعية تصريحات المسؤولين الإيرانيين، إذ قالت وكالة أنباء «إيرنا» الإيرانية الرسمية في أعقاب الهجوم الأمريكي، إن المواقع النووية التي أعلنت الولايات المتحدة قصفها لا تحتوي على مواد يمكن أن تسبب إشعاعاً.
وأفادت وكالة مهر للأنباء بأن نائب المدير السياسي لهيئة الإذاعة والتلفزيون الإيرانية قال: «إيران أعلنت في وقت سابق أنها أخلت المواقع النووية الثلاثة (فوردو، ونطنز، وأصفهان) لئلا يتسبب استهدافها بالإشعاعات وتضر بالمواطنين».
Satellite images have shown "unusual activity" of trucks and vehicles near the Iranian Fordow facility for fuel enrichment.
The images revealed what was described as unusual activity of 16 large trucks near the underground entrance of the Iranian Fordow uranium enrichment facility about two days before the U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear sites, according to an analyst at the satellite company "Maxar" for the American newspaper "The Washington Post."
The following day, new images showed that the majority of the trucks had moved about one kilometer to the northwest, away from the facility.
The images also revealed the presence of other trucks and bulldozers stationed near the site entrance, including one truck that was parked directly at the entrance, raising questions about the nature of the activities taking place prior to the strike.
The satellite images support statements from Iranian officials, as the official Iranian news agency "IRNA" stated following the U.S. attack that the nuclear sites the United States announced it had bombed did not contain materials that could cause radiation.
The Mehr news agency reported that the deputy political director of the Iranian Radio and Television Organization said: "Iran previously announced that it evacuated the three nuclear sites (Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan) to prevent targeting them from causing radiation and harming citizens."
