مصر: إلغاء رحلات جوية.. ورفع التأهب بالمطارات

The Egyptian authorities canceled flights that were headed to Baghdad, Amman, and Beirut until the airspaces in those countries are reopened following the Israeli attack on Iran today (Friday). The Ministry of Aviation announced that the Egyptian airspace is safe and operating normally amid the Israeli strikes, confirming that it is witnessing regular operations in accordance with the highest international safety standards.

It reported that it is monitoring the situation around the clock through the main operations center at Cairo International Airport, in full coordination with the civil aviation authorities in neighboring countries, after some neighboring countries announced a temporary closure of their airspaces due to the current conditions in the region.

The ministry raised the highest state of readiness at Cairo International Airport and all Egyptian airports, in anticipation of the possibility of receiving transiting aircraft that may need to change their flight paths and make emergency landings at the airports due to regional developments, adding that full readiness has been confirmed to provide the necessary technical and logistical support for all affected flights.

It clarified that Cairo International Airport received 9 aircraft from foreign airlines in close intervals for refueling, after adjusting their flight paths due to the closure of some neighboring airspaces.

According to the ministry, all aircraft took off in record time after providing the necessary technical and logistical support to complete their flights safely.

For his part, Minister of Civil Aviation Dr. Sameh Hefni headed to the operations center at Cairo Airport and the integrated operations center of EgyptAir, and visited the air traffic control tower to closely monitor the situation and ensure the smooth operation of flights.

Egypt condemned the military attacks launched by the Israeli army on Iran.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry warned in a statement that these attacks represent a blatant and dangerous regional escalation, a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a direct threat to regional and international peace and security. It announced that it is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving current developments and denounces this unjustified act, which will lead to further escalation of the crisis and could lead to a wider conflict in the region.
