أصدر المرشد الإيراني علي خامنئي مرسوماً بتعيين وزير الداخلية الحالي اللواء أحمد وحيدي قائداً لللحرس الثوري خلفاً للواء حسين سلامي، الذي تم اغتياله بضربة إسرائيلية داخل طهران فجر اليوم، كما عيّن خامنئي، الأدميرال حبيب الله سياري بشكل مؤقت لتسلم مهام رئيس أركان القوات المسلحة الإيرانية.
وأحمد وحيدي (1940) سياسي إيراني ووزير داخلية إيران الحالي. ولد وحيدي في مدينة شيراز. وتولى في 2009 منصب وزير الدفاع في الولاية الثانية للرئيس أحمدي نجاد.
وحيدي عمل لفترة طويلة في الحرس الثوري، وكان رئيساً لمؤسسة الصناعات الجوية الإيرانية إلى جانب توليه المسؤولية عن تطوير منظومة الصواريخ، وشغل أيضاً منصب نائب وزير الدفاع خلال فترة الرئاسة الأولى لأحمدي نجاد. وكان قائداً لكتيبة لبنان بالحرس الثوري الإيراني، ومن منصبه هذا في الثمانينات زعمت مصادر غربية بأنه جند عناصر من حزب الله وكان على صلة بعماد مغنية، حيث نجحا معاً في خطف وليم باكلي (William Buckley) رجل المخابرات الأمريكية (CIA) في لبنان عام 1984.
من جانبه، شغل الأدميرال حبيب الله سياري منصب المساعد المنسق للجيش الإيرني منذ عام 2017.
وكانت التقارير الإيرانية أكدت في وقت سابق مقتل كل من قائد الحرس الثورى الإيراني حسين سلامی، واللواء غلام علي رشيد قائد مقر «خاتم الأنبياء» التابع للحرس الثوري، والعالمين النوويين فريدون عباسي الرئيس السابق لمنظمة الطاقة الذرية الإيرانية، والدكتور محمد مهدي طهرانجي.
The Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei issued a decree appointing the current Minister of Interior, General Ahmad Vahidi, as the commander of the Revolutionary Guard, succeeding General Hossein Salami, who was assassinated in an Israeli strike inside Tehran early this morning. Khamenei also temporarily appointed Admiral Habibollah Sayyari to take over the duties of Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
Ahmad Vahidi (1940) is an Iranian politician and the current Minister of Interior of Iran. Vahidi was born in the city of Shiraz. He held the position of Minister of Defense in 2009 during the second term of President Ahmadinejad.
Vahidi has worked for a long time in the Revolutionary Guard and was the head of the Iranian Aerospace Industries Organization, in addition to being responsible for the development of the missile system. He also served as Deputy Minister of Defense during Ahmadinejad's first presidency. He was the commander of the Lebanon Battalion in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and from this position in the 1980s, Western sources claimed that he recruited members of Hezbollah and was connected to Imad Mughniyeh, as they successfully kidnapped William Buckley, a CIA officer, in Lebanon in 1984.
For his part, Admiral Habibollah Sayyari has held the position of Deputy Coordinator of the Iranian Army since 2017.
Earlier reports from Iran confirmed the deaths of both the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, and Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, the commander of the "Khatam al-Anbiya" headquarters affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, as well as the two nuclear scientists Fereydoun Abbasi, the former head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, and Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Tehranji.
